I don't share you confidence mate. Our club has that look of despair about it now. I think the players have lost faith and know the game is up for Bruce. We simply have to bring in a fresh manager or this season is done already.
It's a sad state of affairs but maybe a defeat next week will force the issue. If we fumble a draw or a win we are only prolonging the pain. If we lose, then even the seemingly patient Ellis Short will have to step in and do the right thing, for all our sakes. If we lose and short doesn't act then we are well and truly up the creek.
i thought we were unlucky to say the least! the ref was shocking loads of fulham challenges went unpunished then as soon as catermole was late (and it wasnt a bad takle at all) yellow card. then we hit the bar twice and the keeper made an unreal save right at the death.... bruce cant be blamed for that!! but he can be blamead for the team selection and the subs young noble should have started or at the very least have been given 20 mins i he looked sharp when he came on the kids got it if you ask me... ive never said im a bruce in or out, tbh i dont care who is in charge as long as we win a few..
Cest, lose or draw next week and there will be a riot. Whilst I am not BoB (nor a BiB) next week is a must win for Steve Bruce - if he does not know that he really is a thick geordie t w a t Bart
We had to win yesterday. We didnt We must surely who next week. I'm not convinced. We needed a min of 9 points from 4 games. We now need 8 in 3. My prediction was 7 at the most but more likely 5. I'm afraid that after that pathetic home performance my predictions may be somewhat correct and that's a huge disappointment to be honest, as I was hoping to be very wrong.
I reckon we will beat Wigan and Blackburn, and whilst there are no easy away games in the PL, I reckon we will get at least a draw at Wolves. That will be 8 points from the 4 games and a good return IMO. THERE ARE NO EASY GAMES IN THE PL!!!! Bart
As far as nil-nillers go, I thought it was a decent enough game, with both sides having chances to claim all three points. In football, you need to get the rub of the green...something that we can't seem to buy at the moment. That said, I said before the game that I would be happy with 8 points from the next four games, with Fulham and Wolves being potential banana skins. At the end of the day, a point is not a disaster...we're one point closer to the mags...and my glass is still half full. KTF
They are hard to beat when you play 1 up front that's for certain. I bet Martin Jol was pissing himself laughing when if say our shape and team. I also bet martinez will be equally happy next Saturday as well. It was Fulham for ****s sake, not man city or utd. If we can't play 2 strikers in a game like that and try to win it what ****ing chance have we really got. I didn't say we should beat them easily but I do think we should have given ourselves a chance.
No thats incorrect. We had one up front and Sessegnon as the 2nd central midfielder-cum-striker, a formation and tactic that hasnt worked once in 11 previous games and one of the sole reasons we are in so much ****e this season. We did however have Bruces other summer addition Ji on the bench and a young lad who scored a hat trick on Tuesday night in the reserves, who was then given 3 mins to perform miracles. No doubt he will be dropped for Saturdays squad. BTW, we had one injury up front and our whole campaign falters on the injury to an 18 year old lad who Bruce told us would be one for the future anyway not for now? All of a sudden he is the reason we failed to beat Fulham at home. After 2.5 years in charge, that is an even more savage enditement of Bruces inadequacies as our manager than even I could post.
Bendtner is Gyans replacement... The club entered the season with 6 strikers, Noble who is probably better than all of them put together, Campbell and Tounkara. Noble Bendtner Wickham Campbell Ji Tounkara
Fulham have been dog ****e in the league this year and have a terrible away record. We should have beaten them simple as that. Just like wba and Villa they were there for the taking yet all we could manAge was a draw. Can anyone honestly see us winning the 10+ games required to stay up with Bruce in charge? I can't unfortunately.
So far we are NOT on target for a safe points total and that is a major worry for BIBS n BOBS alike. We must put our thoughts to one side and cheer the lads on like never before this weekend because if we fail to beat Wigan, life will become a misery under a Steve Bruce who fails to be sacked by our chairman. The alternative is so bad that we must give full and total support. If we don't beat Wigan then let Bruce go to the Wolves as far as I'm concerned and the irony is, thats whose up next! Away to Wolves under the guidance of 1519 McCarthy.
He wouldnt imo but the fact that after 2.5 years in charge, we are down to arguing the toss about an on loan player who wont be with us come May 14th, a local 19 year old with only a handful of games to his name, a Korean lad that looks more like a PR exercise than a genuine footballer and an injury to an 18 year old, bought for the next campaign not this one, as being our only striking options going into a major season for the manager is absolutely incredible. I'm staggered that BiB's can still defend this position, given that we all knew back in January that Bent would need replacing and also we suspected what Bruce already knew in advance that Gyan wanted away as well. Bendtner can be deemed a short term replacement for Gyan; but there is still no replacement for Bent and we are now struggling for a partner for Bendtner from 3 lads who have not got a dozen appearances in the top flight between them. Bruce should hang his useless, sorry fat head in shame, for bringing us to this position in the first place. It beggars belief really and is one of the most incompetent pieces of football managership AT ANY LEVEL, that I can remember in my lifetime.
