Every second half the opposition comes out the blocks with renewed energy, pressing high up the pitch, and giving us no time on the ball. As the half progresses, we get more and more pinned back until we are the team defending deep, unable to string more than three passes together, unable to win a tackle. It feels like there should be an easy-ish fix to this issue. I reckon we need to play like a 'Championship' team for the first 5 or 10 minutes of the second half. Just play it long and direct, and get balls into the box quickly. This will put the opposition on the back foot, and every time they do get into our half, we'll frustrate them by just sending it back long every time we win the ball from them. Just do this for a short period of time to kill the half-time mojo that these teams all seem to get playing us.
Just checked the weather forecast... hope everyone is planning to wrap up warm. Seems like this will be our first 'proper' winter fixture at SMS.
Have seen a few people online highlighting the fact that we are currently on the longest unbeaten run in the country. Might as well just give Bristol City the 3 points now then.
