Just watched the extended highlights. We looked the better side in the first half but my prediction about missed opportunities bit us on the bum. The front 4 looked joined up and looked quite fluid. There was link up between the front 4 and the sitting 2. Collins and Ng defend well but have big engines to continually get forward. Apart for their goals the two CBs look comfortable with the ball. Robinson looked sharp. We've options across the front 4 but cover wide left is a challenge unless we can push Meite or Robinson out there. A sloppy goal to concede. Too many backward passes (and Wintle not even on the field ), CBs too far apart and poor positioning from Runarson. Should have been a routine stop. When they came on, Colwill and Tanner looked right on the same wavelength. Some very good interplay. Tanner seems to be shaking his headless chicken tag. On the Ugbo front, he took his goal well after a great cross from Wintle. The indictment was that he'd been on the field for 10 mins and the commentators suggested it was his first touch of the ball. A big failing given all the possession we were having and the reason he wont start more games. He doesn't contribute enough in open play so detracts from the other 3 forward players. I think he'll become an impact player. The injury to McGuinness doesn't look good. He seemed to be holding his hammy. Bad news for cold midweek games. We're going to miss him, Collins and Grant tomorrow. That left hand side will look very weak.
It's been suggested that McGuinness hasn't done a hamstring - it was an impact injury when he was kicked on the thigh during a tackle. That would be good news and he may even make it for tomorrow night.
It was the back of his leg he was holding which concerned me. Seemed to happen when he stretched for a tackle. To be fair I'd have thought they'd have taken him straight off if they thought it was a hamstring.
My thoughts too - you don't mess around with a torn hamstring. Don't think he'd have stayed on for another 20 minutes if they suspected that.
