I just want the team to get too knackered in something we're unlikely to advance in. Which is basically saying I want us fit and ready to **** Man U up on Saturday, with Spurs playing City that weekend, it's our perfect opportunity to go above United and Spurs.
You sound like a manager saying "we'll take each game as it comes". Well to that I throw another cliché back at you, ie the league is our bread and butter.
Get what you mean but need to not lose this one imo, the group is so tight I'd take going into the game against Milan being in with a shout, even if it's not entirely in our hands. Got more points than I expected at the beginning of the group so a few more points (2-4) would be amazing result. If we go out, we've given it a good shot considering the squad difficulties we have had and if we make it into Europa/CL K/O stages that'd be immense for a first season back in Europe after 20 years in the wilderness and being drawn in the group of death! Genuinely feared 6 losses, and battering's at that, before a ball was kicked. If we lose and go out (Milan would need to beat Dortmund) we can play the kids in the final game, get them some experience in the CL, under the lights at SJP and rest some of the injured players back up or give mins to those just coming back from injury like Miggy, Wilson, Botman, Barnes, Longstaff. Either way it's two free swings at a home run at the end of the day with nothing to lose - make it, amazing - boost the January budget, don't make it, hakuna matata, focus elsewhere (LC QF and European qualification through the league).
