Could it be Leeds are paying him more than the others offered?... Surely not... No it's just loyalty... Isn't it?.
course it is you old cynic. most likely we just forgot to put the salary reduction relegation clause in his contract… and those ‘other offers’ never materialised
In full agreement with most on Firpo and the reason he stayed. But I remember FARKE said he had spoken to Firpo when he arrived and said he is my first choice LB. Now we will soon find out if that true as we get Spence and Byram back
One of the best nights of my life was being in a French bar watching Euro 96 with a bar full of Dutch and watching England take the Dutch apart. RIP Tel
It's clear to see that goalkeeper and both full back positions are a weakness. Struijk has grown in to the season but he's not trustworthy when the going gets tough as proven in previous campaigns. IF it were me (big IF) I'd sell Gnonto and try and flog Meslier. Gnonto for 20 mill and Meslier for 10 mill. I'd go and get my mate Johannson as our keeper from Rotherham. That's an instant upgrade. At left back I'd offer Kai Wagner a deal. He becomes a free agent on 31st December 2023. He's worth taking a chance on imo. We need to see Djed Spence fit and playing. Hopefully that happens in the next couple of weeks. That would sort out the right back position. That gives us two loan spaces for a centre back and a playmaker. If we got a playmaker (Chair from QPR would be a permanent option if we wanted to spend money) that would give us more options up top as it would free up Piroe with Rutter having the option of moving wide if we had to due yo injuries and suspensions. That kind of replaces the Gnonto gap if he went. We also have McGurk who deserves a chance at some point. Joseph can back up too. If we got a centre back in, I'd loan out Cresswell. Gelhardt should go out too on loan. Lewis Bate deserves mens football and some of these loan deals could be used as leverage for the Johannson deal with Rotherham. Put the Gnonto and Meslier money to one side for the summer and go and offer cash for Rodon on a permanent deal. Also use that money to tie Archie Gray on to a long deal to ward the likes of Liverpool off.
If he wasn't injured pre season and had offers coming in he'd have been off like a shot make no mistake. Its a good publicity move by Firpo to come out and say that now as he's now featuring a bit. It will get the gullible happy clappers on side. It would have meant much more if he came out after the Spurs game last season and said he felt responsible for relegation and would stay and do everything he could to put right the wrongs he had made. Instead he said **** all. It's easy in the here and now to come out and declare loyalty to the cause when it's clear that he's stuck with us as much as we are stuck with him, the **** ****.
Lots i agree with there bud but... Cresswell needs to stay as our better right sided back up player. He will get his chance at some point as cooper is fecked and should have been gone. So why move pascal over as he needs to stay the same side or else he can't handle it.
Would rather look for the potential good in anyone and with plenty of games coming up before the transfer window let's at least see how he does before slagging him off. Hopefully we'll see Firpo's natural attacking talent coming to the fore
Watching Spurs under Postacoglu is like watching Bielsaball. They play great, work hard but defend really high and it’s like watching basketball. Spurs could have been 5 up before Villa equalised but keep getting caught and now 1-2 down with 5 minutes left. Son has had 2 disallowed for offside, Johnson could hacpve scored 2, now just watched Son have a 3rd goal ruled out
You're talking like he's a new signing. He's been here 2 and a half years and had maybe 2 or 3 acceptable games the odd time he's been available. How long are you willing to give him? If you open your eyes you will see what you need to see.
