While I don't agree with how r/coys are dogpiling on him right now, I do think that if we are interested in Samuel Iling Jr for January that's likely it for Bryan The problem with Gil is that he doesn't seem to have that little extra pinch to elevate the things he's good at into something reliably effective in the way that Deki or Johnson can
Sadly I don’t think Ange will do it. Been the one main gripe for me with him so far, seemingly a bit Conte-esque with his refusal to give our youth a chance.
Just like Juan Foyth, he has loads of talent, but just isn't up to PL football and that's unlikely to change. He needs to go back to Spain, no matter what we lose on the deal.
Skipp for Gil when chasing a goal? Though as I said, Ange seems very anti-youth so far. Should’ve been Donley (or Veliz), Son could’ve moved out wide then.
And the scouting network need to get far better at NOT signing such players (and that includes the N's) .
Skipp is jogging around like he's in a training game. Doesn't look to be up to this level of intensity that's required.
We all knew Gil, Lo Celso, Davies, Royal and Hoejberg are the right players to start games under Ange's style. We are without Romero, VDV, Bentencur, Bissouma, Maddison Sarr, Peresic, Solomon, Richarlison and Sessengon. That's 6 starters (the first 6) and 4 bench players. Only city could cope with that imho
That or Donley could’ve come into CM where Skipp’s gone. We’ve brought on a DM when we’re 2-1 down, that’s a Conte sort of thing to do.
