Suppose it was inevitable. Always see in games where if you don’t take enough of your chances you’ll end up getting sucker punched.
With Bentancur off, the fluency in our game has dropped too. I'm not optimistic about the second half but once again, we've seen more than enough to suggest that Ange is the man for the job and Levy needs to dip into those shallow pockets of his come January.
2 points 1. I'm convinced that Cash did Betancur deliberately as he was pretty much running MF . It was one of those which isn't a red but should be . 2. On Son's offside goal imo the fault lies with Hojberg for taking a touch instead of hitting it into the space first time .
What I will say is that it is games and periods like this where the sheer gulf in ability between Kane and Son becomes so glaringly obvious. The latter needs to be supplied in order to influence games. The former took games by the scruff of the neck and ran them on his own terms. The gulf is chasm-like.
I can only see this ending one way sadly. I cannot fault the work rate of the players, but not sure we have the quality on the pitch to get a result from here
That performance was everything we've been crying out for over the past four years. Great football, energy and commitment. The only thing missing was the finishing. And that's with 10 players missing. Shows the future is bright as everyone has bought into our style
I missed the first 10 minutes, but have seen the incidents on Sky’s HT analysis. How did Carlos get away with elbowing Gil in the face in the penalty area? Surely that’s violent conduct (red card) and a penalty. Did VAR check it and not give it or was the technology genuinely not working, as I heard there were some technical issues or something? Either way, you’ve (annoyingly) played far better than I expected given your injury situation and have swamped Villa all over the pitch. Unfortunate to be level at half time but I guess that’s what happens if you’re profligate in front of goal. Can’t see Villa riding their luck in the second half if you continue sustaining that level of pressure though.
