Do you mean “yet”? Hes 18 years old remember. Not many players do “have it” in any position at that age.

I personally think he needs to be taken out if the team in the short term. Think he’ll get burnt out

Need someone playing closer to him. Ba might be the answer in this formation, unless we go 2 up front

I'd rather we played him in his natural position (centre midfield). I don't believe he has the right attributes to play as a 10

6 points from the next 2 matches and a lot of these conversations go away

Bit odd how we've picked up our home form but fallen to **** away from home this season. We can't ever just have a "normal" season can we? :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I think he is great. I don't think he has the skill set as a 10. Don't think he ever will. Happy to give my opinion on that at this stage. He is a 8, for me anyway.

Having slept on it and done a bit of reading across the Internet, I'm not convinced a change of formation is required.

We are creating a boat load of chances, over 20 shots yesterday, 5 on target, its just not going our way in front of goal.

The first goal we conceded yesterday could just have easily gone over the stand, sods law it flew in the top corner, their second goal we got caught out putting bodies forward, 09 got dragged across and rheblad bent it in the far corner.

Roberts at least twice and Clarke once? First half tried the same and were blocked, scuffed or easily saved.

Games are fine margins and we fell short, I'd be more concerned if we weren't dominating or creating chances

I am still blown away to the comparison you made to last season. I thought we would be worse off this year.

We just have lost more games this year. Seen to be losing laods more. We also don't have Amad. Are we worse off for goals against ?

We might actually have a striker that would score if TM would play one, it's only been the last couple of games he's started with one, i honestly think he needs to persist with one but the no 10 has to be right and for me right now that is Adil by a mile, he needs to change the midfield 3 that's he's insisted on laying every week

We have lost more bit also won more. We've only drawn twice. I'm perfectly happy with that myself would rather win 1 and lose 1 than draw 2 get an extra point.

I can't remember how many points we ended last season on but if you win 1 and lose 1 all year you end on 69 points in this league. Don't think we were far from that figure last year and made playoffs.

    Basically I'm saying **** draws.

Kind of agree about the 8. But I still think he’s far too young ta say he is or isn’t anything yet. Again just an opinion. Have seen him look good in that position, but more recently for me he’s looked a little jaded. I’d leave him out weds personally. Auchiche has to start surely?

I would say so. When he gets minutes, chances just seem to come more frequently. Thats not a coincidence.

it seems to me like a totally different League this year to last so difficult to compare seasons imo. The competition for a play off place seems to include most of the league so far, and we are doing OK in my opinion mostly by having fewer draws. Better to win/loose than draw/draw , Randy said that <laugh>
Maybe Rusyn at 10 and Mayenda up front with Adil in place of Patrick who has been hopeless this season, he would struggle to get into any other team in the top half on his current form imo. If Rusyn doesn't cut the mustard, move Adil inside and get Ba or Roberts on out wide, this would be only using one pre meditated substitution, but changing our pattern in attack. I would love us to go 3/5/2 in some games with our players available but realise this is not a favoured solution by most . Be interesting to see if TM makes any changes for next game, plan B or a tweak its a tough call , but I reacon a tweak is all that is needed tbh.

Pitch getting zero game time is worrying me. How can Mowbray think Dack is a better option?

Better in all areas apart from defeats. By this stage last season we'd lost 6

    Last Season
    P-17 W-5 D-6-L-6 F-22 A-21 Pts-21

    This Season
    P-17 W-8 D-2 L-7 F-27 A-19 Pts-26

We're a finisher and an anchoring midfielder away from being real players in this league for me.

Its frustrating as owt again, all early pressure before the inevitable sucker punch. Some strike but their first shot on target. The second one is a break away again, you can't help but feel a disciplined holding mid could have stemmed the flow of the attack in both cases.

The lack of a finish (again) is simply staggering. We've no luck, with the keeper being rooted for both post hits and then some really poor finishing. People are blaming the manager but hes using what he has and at the end of the day hes not the one out there failing to hit the target!

A positive response on Wednesday I hope.

Just having a look around yesterday's Championship results and it's certainly an unpredictable league.

Norwich and Plymouth are 2nd and 3rd top scorers.

The bottom five combined have won 2 of the last 25 games.

Only two of the top six have won their last game.

Stoke only had one shot on target yesterday, a regular event, in a 3-0 home defeat.

Sunderland are 6 points off third with 3 of the next 4 games at home.

    Couple of suggestions:

Clarke and Roberts should swap wings every now and then, maybe halfway through each half.

Stop the short corners, we get more chances to score when the ball is in their penalty area than a short pass which after a few dribbles, if we keep the ball, it then gets crossed into the box so cut out the middle part and get the ball into the danger area at the first attempt. No offside direct from the corner either.

Try to get a formation with Onion playing in front of the back four. He can then also cover for the likes of Hume and Huggins if they go forward as well as protecting the back four.

None of these suggestions are original but I think they could improve us. We should at least try them.

So we should kerp lumping the ball in the box ?
That generally does not work well for us,
We need to mix it up, obviously
