he won the battle of the championship’s two up and coming managers pretty easily tonight. Ipswich have scored in every game this season. Didn’t muster a shot on target today or ever threaten to
There's no doubt he's a decent coach however until he gets a promotion on his CV then even ****ers like Colin trump him and as the Ipswich manager has already achieved that plus currently stands 7 points clear in the automatic promotion places of the Championship I'd say the evidence is far from conclusive. That said Carlos is still young and it will be interesting to see if a lower end PL club decides to take a punt on him.
Corberan was great at the dogs and took them from nowhere to almost into the prem. he then walked away. A top bloke who can actually make players better.
I meant he won the game… wasn’t saying he was necessarily a better manager. Jury out on that. Corboran did well on a tight budget at hudders, has a limited budget again at the baggies so can’t strengthen really - but despite the budget it’s a much better squad than he had at hudders and definitely one of the better ones in the championship. They looked solid today.
Obviously depends on who wants him. Palace need to replace Hodgson for example and Fulham might decide they'd like to kick on. Also there's potentially the Bounemouth job as they sacked O'Neil even though he kept them up and so the new guy could be in trouble if results aren't good enough and that's before we even get to the bottom three. Of course he could decide to stay at WBA where promotion will be difficult to achieve plus we all know what happens when you eventually hit a run of poor form.
Whoever the blunts sign will know he has no cash unless he sells and that won’t get much cash. Blunts be as well to stick rather than twist plus taking a job and getting relegated isn’t good on a cv
Sunday morning and papers full of crap ref stories and the Peltier James incident tops the issue list. Leeds had a nailed on penalty not even bothered with. James was left in a heap in the box whilst play carried on. If that goes our way we get a different result as Bamford wasn’t on the pitch then
On Friday it felt bad, I thought Southampton would win and we would be 4th It feels better today, we gained a point and a plus 2 goal average over Ipswich Now it’s feeling more like a point away from home, (they also held Ipswich at home),
It felt like 2 points dropped but Rotherham are OK at home, tough to beat. You can't win the league by Christmas but you can certainly lose it. If we are still in touch with the top 2 come the start of January then we can strengthen. It's not a bad place to be in. We should know by now that the form from January onwards is the real promotion race as the pressure grows on teams in and around the top. Hopefully we will be the ones that rise to the challenge like we did in Bielsa's 2nd season and not fall away like we did in his first attempt. For now, we've just got to 'stay in it' and edge our way to the 90pts marker. Ipswich have a tough Christmas schedule and have hit a few bumpy results and Leicester have issues with players going to the African Nations Cup in January. Meanwhile we are talking about bringing players in to strengthen. Disappointing result on Friday but its not a disaster. There's no panicking from @NostradEmus just yet.
Emu where would you strengthen in January? For me a striker who WILL score goals. A CB who is better than what we have and I include Charlie Cresswell in that, he needs to be on a par with Rodon and a Djed Spence type LB
Better teams than Ipswich have lost the 5.30 at West Brom in November Be a real shame if their season ended the same way.
Given the vitriol directed at the loan rats… maybe we should give him some credit for staying (even if most kinda wanted him to fck off )
Firpo showing his commitment to the club and yet you mock him. Nice to have a player who's chosen to stay and also backs his ability so much that if he were to leave then it will only be to a top club.
