I still think we finish 10th this season BTW. Another year of development for our players but no actual progress for the club. Tone will go and we go again.

I don't really pay attention to the league table until after Xmas. It's pointless

Gap to the top 2 is getting close to insurmountable IMO

I continue to be perplexed and bamboozled at Ipswich, there's a genuine shout that if Leicester didn't have a Premier league team in the championship, a newly promoted team from leauge one would be top of the leauge. They're talking the piss and showing everyone below them how it's done.

That's an interesting point because outside of promotion (which was never a realistic goal this season) it's so hard to measure development/progress. I think I agree with you re TM seeing the season out - said it before that he was only ever a stop-gap appointment and it took KS/KLD by surprise how well he did. A young, foreign coach is the way they'll go.

100%. Interesting if they do it in Jan or Summer. I'd rather Jan. No point wasting time.

Not sure top 2 was ever achievable, but I see Ipswich lost tonight. Long way to go

Got to be honest, I'm not sure I want us to go up yet. I know that sounds defeatist, but if we really are building something long term then maybe we have to accept it'll take a few years to get us to the place where we can go up AND compete. Look at Burnley and Sheff Utd this season - they were miles ahead of the rest of the pack last year and are getting destroyed week after week in the PL. I've been there, done that more time than I care to remember and have no desire to see us go up to compete for 17th place every season.

Well, I'm not just saying this because of run of results that may have some scratching their heads, but I have been told (yes a have been told) Mowbray could be upstairs or gone before January and a young "coach" will be a replacement
.Make of that what you will, but "not long retired from playing" is what I've been told. We'll see.

Hence "Taking the piss". I never said they were better than us.... leauge position says otherwise. That's why I'm perplexed and bamboozled at how they're doing it.

Can't see an upstairs move. What would he do? Speakman does transfers and contracts.
Feels like the club wanted to make a change in the summer but bottled it. The stuff I've heard about Speakman and Mowbray not getting on makes me think they wouldn't take much persuasion to make a change

We lose our best players every season we don’t go up tho mate it’s like a double edged sword. The money from going up is huge there’s never really a right time to go up. How do you build long term without progress?

Because they have a good manager and they’re organised. We aren’t. We have the ability to control games but when teams attack us we sh*t our pants and fall apart because we have square pegs in round holes.

Yeah. I got back to you. Sorry, didn't see the message. They definitely want a younger , European style manager.

I would just got for it me. Least we can then go at next season properly.

I don't doubt it. The millions on offer in the PL makes it a no-brainer (you wonder if KLD would stick around if he could sell the club on for a huge profit) but on a personal level, the prospect of scratching around for 35 points a season turns me off.

I think January might give us an indication of the ambitions. We have the Lihadji and Stewart money in the bank (although I assume we stuck some wedge in for Aouchiche, Pembele etc) so if they ARE serious about promotion then some squad holes need filling with proper players, not just potential players.

    Time will tell I guess
