For me, his introduction was way too late giving him to little time to make an impact. I just can't understand why we seem to be so placid in the 2nd half of most games, if it's arrogance it needs to be addressed.
Arrogance, complacency, and lack of proper captain. Downes is brilliant but it sometimes feels like he has to do all the gritty work by himself. The next best tackler is Adam Armstrong (defenders apart). Really need a CM in January. Stuie will be more effective at RW than Fraser was today.
Hit and miss. Got a shot in and a couple of decent crosses. But looked rusty and also a bit of a liability defensively. The game had turned by the time he came on so it's a bit harsh to judge him, seeing as the whole team had switched off.
First half Huddersfield were passive, which allowed us to stroke the ball around at our pace. Second half Huddersfield were in our faces, closing down space and hustling players into errors largely because we still wanted to play at OUR pace, like in the first half. The players need to take responsibility for not raising the tempo of the passing and for not mixing it up a bit by going long and trying to win possession back at the other end. Still need a captain on the pitch to force the others to step up when we are pressed back.
No, Fraser was RW. Did nothing all game. Stu was playing on the left of midfield behind Sulemana, and got the assist for the goal.
Definitely a missed opportunity, but if WBA wins, we'll have gained a point on Ipswich and Preston, and equaled Leeds. We've had worse weekends.
Frustrating second half but it stretches the unbeaten run to nine games and the Skates have just had theirs blown apart, definitely worth a pint or two tonight.
Today was a wasted opportunity. A win would have put us above Leeds into third and just 6 points behind Ipswich. Thrown away by appalling tactics and substitutions. If we don't go up automatically then we are not going up at all.
I am so happy for you that Pompey's demise has given you such a thrill. Me, I.want all the Hampshire teams to.do well, from from Havant and Waterlooville in the National South to our top team in the área, Bournemouth (Old Hampshire)
Just got back from the dull as ditchwater match. The first half was keep ball for Saints and backs to the wall for Huddersfield. Only bit of excitement was 20 seconds of passes leading to the goal. The second half was better but only because Huddersfield decided Saints were all show and no product. Huddersfield grew in confidence and looked the only side likely to score. By the end Saints were holding on. So much possession for a couple of shots on target and one goal. Totally underwhelmed.
