I don't believe I said that. I said it couldn't afford to keep Oscar.

We had money in the budget for Davis - what makes you think we can't?

Everything coming from the vice chairman suggests we have.

First half poor mistakes however to come back from 2.0 down away from home and could have won it will do for me. Shame we didn’t but a decent away point as long as we make the most of our home game on Tuesday night.

Good spot.....Yes I'm guilty. I never did get punctuation.

BTW...We'll be just as wasteful vs Rotherham....

    What went wrong then?

Connolly isn't on loads is he? He's on a save your career 1 year deal. Wouldn't think Delap would be on loads.

Proven strikers should be earning the big bucks. So it's poor if you need to leave us short up top to balance the budget.

    Swansea head coach Michael Duff:

"Frustration is the word. There was lots of good stuff in the first half, some good quality football, possession with purpose. We played through them and hurt them. I thought we were good value for the 2-0 lead.

"The second half, they score from the first attack which sucked the energy out of our team. Then we got stuck between a rock and a hard place, whether we get on the front foot as we did in the first half or we try to protect. In the end, we did neither.

"I think there's a penalty in the first half at 2-0, Ben Cabango's nearly had his shirt taken off him.

"There were lots of good bits, but we've given up two goals. They were two really poor goals - they've not had to do a lot to score.

"We ask the players not to go and press the goalkeeper when the ball is in open play and the first time the ball goes to the keeper in the second half, we go and press him. They played through us from there. That adds to the frustration."

    Hull head coach Liam Rosenior:

"Goals change games. The first 15 minutes we started really well and they score with their first shot. When that happens, it rocks you a bit, especially when you're that much in control.

"The second goal, Ryan has been magnificent, he is a massive part of our game. But he's disappointed obviously not to hold that one.

"But to see the character, the team spirit and resilience and the quality we played with after that, it gave the players confidence at half-time.

"That showed in the second-half performance. It sums up where we are that we're 2-0 down away from home and we're disappointed not to win the game."

Clearly tried to get Davies and it didn’t happen. Didn’t want Oscar and sounds like we got a decent loan fee and obligation for him if what’s been said on here is true. I also think we’re a striker light, but there’s a few on here who’ve said they’re not convinced Delap is a step up from Oscar. I couldn’t disagree more.

    I'm not saying we can't.

    Someone else is saying that.

What went wrong with what? We signed Philogene so sold Oscar and were going to replace him with a cheaper option who chose someone else.

What are you on about? For the third time, we couldn't afford to make the additions we did and keep Oscar so we tried to get a cheaper striker in Davis. He turned us down. I never said we couldn't afford a replacement for Oscar, just that we couldn't afford to keep Oscar.

Still not convinced about Twine. We all seem to have got to the point at which we are grateful for a half way decent perfomance from him. Which to me seems to verge on being happy with mediocrity. We dont need mediocrity in the position he is playing in the team; which I tnink is supposed to be the much vaunted number 10 role. In additon to his normal play, his freekicks still leave a lot to be desired.

I'm saying it's not unreasonable to have a last chance saloon player, a good young prospect and a proven striker on decent money in your squad.

You shouldn't be going cheap on strikers.

Stuff about Davis is separate conversation to my point.

I'm not sure he would have been significantly cheaper, just deemed better value as he'd likely contribute more in the current system.

I'm not disagreeing with you.. I literally just contended that keeping Oscar was outside our budget. I've said that several times now so not sure where the confusion is stemming from.

If you think we shouldn't be going cheap on strikers then we don't sign Philogene, a player easily worth 20m+ already.

And I thought that managers did the opposite cos we're **** at doing it. :emoticon-0175-drunk
