Evening Chaps! On the back of our win against Chelsea; the question is how will we fair against Manchester City? On paper they have a much stronger squad and are smashing goals in for fun against everyone whilst not conceding. Us, on the other hand, are keeping the door shut but not opening the oppositions. Despite that I always feel we will do well against the biggest sides and we generally do. We all know our problem is breaking the small teams down who fight for their lives. My question is do you think we will (not can) beat them? It's at Anfield and we will be bang up for it after this game. On a side note City have got us and Chelsea away and then Arsenal at home in their next four matches. That could make their season or put Man U straight back in there. I'm going for a 2-1 win!
I don't think we'll get anything out of the game to be honest. I do think that Andy Carroll is our best hope though - he completely bullied Kolarov in the fixture last season and Clichy has similar problems against height (that's why we always lofted long diagonal balls to Kuyt when Rafa's Liverpool played Arsenal)
I reckon you'll get something, hopefully all three points. It's one of those ones that on paper should be really difficult for you to get anything, which based on past history probably means you'll walk out of there with a win! And like you say, if you do it will give City their first real test of character this season, what with Chelsea at SB next up...well a man can hope!
I don't think we'll get smashed, touch wood! But we have to be on our game. I hope Suarez will be there to play. Anyone got any news on Gerrard?
City are strong but our defence is holding up well. If we can keep tight at the back and press and counter like we did in the first half today against Chelsea we could get a result. I really don't rate city's defence at all, the fact is though their attack is so good the focus is drawn away from their defence, much like Argentina.
I think if there is a team to beat them, it can be us. Something about us against the odds we seem to strive. Good win for us today! Missed it (of course)
Thanksgiving is Thursday, Black Friday after ( awesome deals on electronics and the lot btw!!), and then the second part of my coaching course next weekend, so yes, again, I will be missing the game!
He's the new Tomas Brolin. He'll be scoring goals all over the place soon, starting with a hattrick against City: two off his arse, the other a rebound off his face.
