We've been pretty poor since September, some wins over poor teams recently have papered over some serious cracks.
Eh? Did you watch the game? he slid one of the best balls of the match into mayender but his first touch was poor
Seem to be going backwards at the moment, can’t see the playoffs this season and it’s looking more like a mediocre mid table finish. Think the transfer policy is coming home to roost with what we have brought in up front. January we really need to bring in some proven quality up front, proven quality from a “top” league not a hopeful punt from another middling championship club or below.
I think the telling stat there is 24 shots 0 goals. We probably didn't deserve to lose that game but that means nothing.
Ruslyn etc are no good man we are going backwards with the smoggy in charge, firstly Stewart has been injured, and why did he not sign ? offered a pittance i bet, as a SAFC supporter, this happens time and time after the Soton game we are going up now this crap, and how long will it last ? Millwall lost 3-0 at home we better win there next week, or Clarke will be off next. we are always taking about signing strikers it is a joke.
Got what we deserved. For all of our supposedly great chances, Plymouth had a couple of excellent ones to make it 3. We just don't quite have it in a number of positions. Our defence looks vulnerable too often, we don't have a defensive midfielder to protect them and there's too many individual errors back there. Our wide players, for all of their individual skill, slow the game down and bring us narrow. This leads to us having loads of "chances" but they're always in front of the opposition defence. It's rare that you see us put an attacker through on goal behind the defence. If our wingers are to cut inside (and with Clarke he absolutely should), then we have to have a fullback who will go beyond on the outside. None of this inverted full back ****e. Finally, we need a striker to be ruthless and selfish. Not one who plays with his back to goal to bring others in to the game. One that's going to shoot every chance they get. Every week we have more position, more chances and are the "better team". Yet our results are not like Man City's. We're not as good as we think we are.
Ah well. One of those days where we were never going to score, The usual suspects already on twatter slagging the club for not buying one of those mystery experienced, goal-scoring strikers that are ten a penny Thought Mayenda looked good, plenty of potential. Some odd substitutions and too many players off colour (Roberts, Ruysn, Ekwah, Clarke) but we'll bounce back on Weds I'm sure
A good example of what I'm referring to was his cross at the end of the game, he received theball from Clarke and played a blind ball straight into a defender, he did this more than once today and I've seen him do it before.
My team for Huddersfield Patterson Hume. Ballard. O'Nien. Huggins Neil Roberts Dack Clarke Adil Rusyn
A frustrating game, for some reason it's not falling for us at times. We play such good football, then the odd game it falls apart in the final third. Ita frustrating, but all part of the journey we are on as a club
Running out of excuses for the lack in consistency this season. Ahhh wait some of the lads have been away and we're leggy from international duty silly me.
Looking at the positives… (don’t shoot me down) Thought Huggins, Adil, and Mayenda looked decent, AND we created an absolute hatful of chances in comparison to the Swansea game, which was absolutely ****. We could play that again and we’d have gotten 3/4 goals. Just one of those days really, it happens and we need to accept it and move on.
A proven striker won't make a difference. We don't create good chances for the forwards we do have. Things will only change if Mowbray changes tactically or there is a change in the dugout.
I agree. But if we have one of the best squads but are falling below expectations...I'll say it out loud now...and will be shot down...maybe we need a different manager. I'll put my tin hat on now.
