Lovely weekend for Leicester. I guess the most important thing for us is building a nice big gap between ourselves a 7th place.
Interesting looking ahead at the next month, I think we have quite a favourable fixture list. The month is essentially split into three sets of three games in a week (today being game 1 of set 1) In each of those busy weeks we start away and end home (minimising travel and fatigue towards the ends) Set 1: A, H, H Set 2: A, A, H Set 3: A, H, H
Ipswich has had the benefit of fielding a remarkably consistent lineup: eight different players have started at least 15 of their 17 matches (we have three players at or above that threshold). That's not going to be possible with 9 matches in 32 days, though, so we'll get a real sense as to whether they have the depth for the Championship grind over the next month.
Hopefully Cardiff are in for a tough bruising game against West Brom tonight ahead of their visit to us on Saturday, particularly as they have that extra days rest and preparation.
Hull already 3 up against Rotherham, who got their only away point from Saints. So annoying. Edit: Middlesbrough 3 up against Preston. 3 goals for Saints in a game. Highly unlikely. Have to be some og’s in there.
I think most teams set out to defend deeper against the likes of us, Leeds, and Leicester. If Rotherham played against us the way they do against regular Championship sides, we'd beat them comfortably.
Not convinced. Played Rotherham and Huddersfield, won neither. Haven’t imposed ourselves on the games, so often.
Leicester lost to Hull. Teams will unexpectedly drop points sometimes. Rotherham was a freak result really, should have buried them with all the chances we had. I do think our fans are ridiculously negative. We are on a long unbeaten run after all.
