Cleverly reminds me of the Sheff Wed fans who were desperately trying to prove nothing happened when it clearly did.

He's now gone from not being able to remember saying something ...

... to being able to remember precisely what he said and the exact context <doh>

"James Cleverly is coming under pressure over abusive comments he made in the Commons after his explanation that he was insulting the local MP, not calling a Labour-held constituency a “****-hole”, was met with scepticism."

Just received this message from a mate in business ....

Ffs you defo couldn't make this up. HMRC are relocating a tax office to Newcastle owned by part owners of the scum the Reuban brothers. Via a tax haven in the Virgin Isles, so the people looking to stop fiddles work in an office owned by tax fiddlers. Just a coincidence that they donated 1.9 mill to the Tories.

The daft thing is James Cleverly has made the whole situation worse by suggesting he said “because he’s a **** MP”. It sounds absolutely nothing like “MP” and the majority of the public aren’t as stupid as they assume.

If he had any sense he would have just continued to deny it was him.

Labour (probably) don’t need more help to get elected but the Conservatives keep on giving it anyway.

Well our council has announced this morning they are nearly £30 million in the red but it’s not their fault so they are giving themselves a 20% rise<doh>

Labour lose by-election in London, to one of their own, who dislikes Starmers stance on Israel. I beliebe this is a very isolated incident, and a time based vote. Whether Starmer can hold his party together on a range of issues similar to this is up for debate. I think he is already on borrowed time personally, far too much talk of being a conservative and Thatcher being right. Israel is the first big challenge to the complete and utter authority he wants and it hasnt gone well for him at all. What next I wonder. He needs to lead not direct, in opinion anyway, or he will be a figure head to win an election but who then is subject to internal war and wont last 2 years.

Never mind Rishi, at least you kept your promise about stopping the boats <doh>

Britain’s growth outlook is ‘worst I’ve ever seen’, says Andrew Bailey

"Bank of England’s forecasts indicate economy will barely grow over next two years."

The Bank Of England have never gotten a forecast or decision wrong iirc.

    I don't rc. It's right - they've never gotten a forecast or decision right.

Put 'Bank Of England wrong decisions' into Google and see every news outlet, no matter which way they lean politically, piling in.

Honesty, integrity and ... err what was the other one?

"Michael Gove has been interviewed as part of an investigation into a PPE company linked to Michelle Mone.

In December 2020, her lawyer said she "had no role or function in PPE Medpro, nor in the process by which contracts were awarded to PPE Medpro".

But earlier this month a representative of Baroness Mone and her husband, Douglas Barrowman, acknowledged they were involved with the company."

What was the main thing, exactly, that made her suitable to be a Baroness.

... and will her mate, Boris Johnson, be having family holidays on her yacht I wonder.

The Tories even enacted a law to stop people profiteering from Covid. They obviously did not see themselves and their chums as part of those "people". :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Is there any reason we can't commit to 3d printing identical Elgin Marbles so that both London and Athens can have them?

We could even sort it so that nobody knows which are the originals.

    What an absolute non-troversy.
