Adidas like to go a bit funky sometimes, we might get the stripes going a certain way or faded stripes. Stuff like that. Bit more modern. I think sticking to a bland black and white attire while everyone else in the league has started adding cool details to kits holds us back
Most of the strips adidas did for Newcastle were horrible. The thing that's always annoyed me is that Juventus have managed some absolute belters and they are basically the same. Hopefully this time around it's fresh I don't want any reproductions.... like you say times have changed.
Only really liked the famous keegan one which in today's market would look awful and I liked the one when Dalglish was here and we beat Barcelona. Asics one with the star was better than both imo.
I liked the 08/09 one and the Championship one Newcastle is a boring former mining community in people's minds Juventus are Italian superstars. When people talk about Newcastle it's always "dey go te wurk an watch d match, simple folk."
Newcastle as a place is historic, going all the way back to the roman times, it's a really nice and interesting city, yes i'm biased, but loads of people that don't have any relation to it say the same thing once they have been. It isn't some new place with no soul.
Newcastle is actually one of the countries better cities, but Britain is a pretty grim place quite frankly. I'd trade history for rivers and seas that aren't the colour of stool personally.
Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool all have parts of them that are magnificent and also parts that are ****ing horrid. Grim is the best word to use. It's the murky, dark, miserable weather. In the summer our cities look sound, quite nice. But when the winter or autum rolls in the North of England looks like a right horrible ****hole for the most part. Scandinavia realised wooden houses, painted white, looks nice all year round. Problem is you have to maintain and paint em, no one in Britain would do that.
Some of the terrace houses in Liverpool could of done with a few more Nazi bombardments tbh. They're absolutely ****ing terrible. Nan told me everyone was buzzing when the council houses started to go up "Electricity?! Water?!"
