I hope he hasn't lost a step because of his injury. Sarge's defensive pressure on the ball was a big part of our early success this season.
Jon Rowe has reportedly pulled out of the England Under-21 squad due to an "injury concern". What bad luck on him.
The PinkUn is now reporting that Rowes ankle injury may not be as severe as first thought and he may still be available for the QPR match
From the Pinkun: "Fortunately, Rowe's injury doesn't look to be too severe - the hope is that he will be back and fit in time for QPR's visit to Carrow Road after the November international break. The injury sustained to his ankle/heel area is one that's been managed for a few weeks since before their Blackburn defeat. All sides see it as a precautionary measure - with Rowe now afforded time before the Championship restarts to get himself back up to full speed." https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/23931771.jon-rowes-injury-scare-latest-worry-david-wagner/
Amazing that we only paid £250k for Wes Hoolahan: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/t...sfer-that-will-go-down-in-the-clubs-folklore/
Buendia? OK, only for a short time admittedly. Pukki? Longer, and different. Holt? Played with Wes a lot. Wes to my mind was a luxury player, you had to take what you got from him. Could be imperious, could be anonymous and frustrating.
Depends on what you mean by best player I suppose. Buendia - good hardworking midfielder who could pass well and score but better than Maddison or Paddon? Pukki - good goalscorer but better than MacDougal? A battering ram like Holt - never in my opinion!! Peters could find space in a crowded tube train. Players like Wes and Tommy Bryceland could pick a pass that other players could not even see let alone achieve and that is what I class as the best player. Same with Golf and most other sports. McIlroy, Norman etc brilliant players but Seve and especially Tiger could produce shots that nobody else would even try.
Peters' great ability was ghosting into the penalty box and shooting before the defenders were aware of his presence. Hoolahan's strength lay in his vision and the ability to pick out players with precise passing.
And he played a major part of his career with us, for those of you too young to have seen him play, you have really missed a very special player. I believe he came to us under Ron Saunders management. Football was an art form to him he was so good.
Fairly certain it was John Bond. I seem to remember that Bond and Brown knew Martin well from his West Ham days.
He had the same ability with corners etc. He would be standing in the area with 3 defenders around him, the ball came in and there was Peters on his own heading the ball in with the 3 defenders looking stunned as if to say ' how did he do that ' A once in a generation player and we were lucky to see him for a couple of seasons when he was always our Player Of The Year. I agree with Bure - the Player of My Lifetime with Wes a fairly distant second. Where the hell have all those years gone!!
£96m in debt https://norwichcity.myfootballwrite...-the-unceremonious-drift-into-debt-continues/ What next for City, as the unceremonious drift into debt continues?
I was at that one in one of my infrequent visits to UK. Was a Capital Canary in those days. Train back to Liverpool Street, waiting on the platform there for friends, in full colours and the Liverpool team walked past. Luckily there was a PC right by me, they were very, very angry.
After he stopped playing Peters worked for J and J Leisure in Gt Yarmouth, which was owned by Jimmy Jones, who was Vice Chairman under Robert Chase. Met him on numerous occasions. Great player.
Isn't that just par for the course in 1. trying to gain promotion 2. trying to stay above water after relegation? I'd be surprised if any of the teams either promoted or challenging in the playoffs over the last decade had no debt. There's a channel who I've seen on YT (possibly HITC 7s?) who's gone through the championship and the debt mountain that accrues in trying to go up. What matters more is the sustainability of the debt
