Happy birthday Smudger. Would you like me to request Lardi to merge this thread with Cray wanderers away, which is now full of references to famous ladies we fancied back in the eighties? That way, you can spend the day surrounded by the likes of Kim Wilde, Sheena Easton and the Bananarama girls (in a completely un-dodgy on line way <laugh>)

Please have a look at the News and Migrant Crisis merged thread (although we mustn’t mention the Migrant Crisis).

The story about the Drax power station climate change con and the killing of millions of trees is enough to bring anyone down again.

    We are doomed………

    I'm not Reams.

Any and all subjects are open for debate within normal forum rules.
I merged the threads because another member posted some migrant content in the news thread. Rather than move those comments I merged the threads, as in my view (which I expressed a few weeks ago) I considered the migrant issue as a news related one, and we already had a news thread.
I didn't really want other crises (housing, cost of living, foreign wars) to possibly have their own threads.
One news thread is enough in my view.

Also I mentioned a while ago that I would not personally be adding anything more to the migrant issue.
That was only my choice. Anybody else is free to discuss it as much as they like.

Any issues relating to my moderating, please direct them to @brb
I won't mind at all. All opinions should be open to debate <peacedove>

You most certainly are not Reams. And no need to go ‘upstairs’.

The Migrant Crisis thread had been running independently for a number of years and was frequently the subject of continuing debate and as it affects endless other news stories I think it deserves it’s own thread.

The only other topic I would put in the same category would perhaps be the increase in global temperatures, although again that is inter-related to population and thus linked to human movement across the globe.

However, either way, I accept your decision, but will continue to disagree with it and unlike if you were the aforementioned moderator, I’m sure that will be fine <peacedove>
