Unfortunately my IT skills are non-existent, so I can't copy and paste the Telegraph front page headline
CURBS TO END STRANGER DANGER FOR CHILDREN ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
but seriously I don't know how he finds the time.

Just started watching Red Dwarf XIII

Considering the series first aired 36 years ago most of the cast can be forgiven for looking a little the worse for wear.
Danny John-Jules has aged well enough,
but Chris Barrie hardly looks a day older (OK, with some help from the make-up department).

The Earthsot Prize may have been a bit glitzy, but it did highlight many brilliant scientists on whom our children and grandchildren depend if they are going to live in a habitable world.

Hopefully it was held somewhere easily accessible and no one had to travel too far to get to it and it was a very small affair. Certainly hope no one had to travel by plane.

Singapore I think <laugh> just down the road...

I think glitz overload and strobing light fests are required to hold the attention of anybody under 25 these days.
The Eurovision Snog contest being a prime example (oops, typo).

But I am impressed by the serious work being done in parts of the world where destruction of wilderness for farming is happening all the time.
It's just a pity the prizes are limited to £1m.
A Billion pound prize, chipped in from all the world's biggest polluters, would make more difference.

Harry & Meghan (remember them?) have another book out soon.
Apparently it reveals "secrets" about the death of HM Queen Elizabeth (Harry's gran).
    Scandalous :emoticon-0113-sleep

Made up secrets presumably, since neither Harry or Meg were there at the time.

    Dr Who anorak observations :emoticon-0126-nerd:

That little sketch on Children in Need was quite clever, and somebody did their homework on it.
The Kaled Elite black uniforms and the 'Mark 3 travel machine' reference were accurate touches, and even the voice of Nyder on the intercom calling Davros out of the chamber was neat too.

Curious though that Davros himself was not portrayed in his life-support system wheelchair.
Presumably the BBC decided that to represent him that way would be sending out a negative message about disability.
The Corporation had no such qualms on all the other occasions they have portrayed him, even up to his most recent appearance a few years ago.
Maybe they were concerned about the high number of kids who would be watching.
But then loads of kids watch Dr Who.

Also I don't recall ever thinking negatively about any wheelchair bound person because of the way I saw Davros for the first time on screen back in 1975.
Aren't there bad disabled folk as well as good, just the same as the able bodied?
Still, we now live in more sensitive times now.

I'm A Celebrity viewing figures for opening episode down 2 million on last year

<applause> A few folks probably not impressed that Farage is picking up £1.5m - presumably even if he's first out.
What a load of old codswallop.

I hate reality TV with a passion - my missus loves it so I' ve endured a few shows. No idea what happens in the UK but here in Spain, most shows just seem to be a group of people on an island or something, literally screaming at each other about god knows what problems (who did the washing up, who ate the extar fish etc etc. It then goes back to the studio where friends and family cheerfully continue the screaming.
Im happily boycotting the Farage show, but as it's not available in Spain, I doubt it'll be a major concern to anyone.

Reality TV is crap. Has been since Big Brother began donkey's years ago.
Just the modern equivalent of Victorian freak circuses.

Watched the first 2 series of The Apprentice, haven't seen any reality TV since then except the episodes of The Apprentice where they get the 3rd degree from the business experts, and get caught with their pants on fire.

We had that here - my ex boss when I was a painter and decorator was on there. It was great - they caught some of the cowboy practices he got up to and stuck it on TV, which was the first time reality TV ever made me laugh, especially when they revealed all. Then spoilt it by feeling sorry for him and gave him a weekend in Mallorca as compensation.

The Daily Telegraph is apparently to be taken over by Abu Dhabi, adding to the list of foreign owned newspapers. All the Murdoch rags and The DailyMail plus now the Telegraph must now account for the bulk of the country's press circulation. The Telegraph was owned for years by the Barclay Brothers who were based in the Channel Islands, which is at least a bit nearer home. Interestingly enough a recent poll found that a majority of Daily Mail readers vote Lib-Dem or Labour, which shows that their rabid support of the Tory Party is totally ineffectual.

I think you’ll find that the majority of any newspapers readers will vote Lib-Dem or Labour at the next election
