Get a text to say my prescription is ready to collect, gets to Boots at 1.15, sorry can't give you it until the pharmacist comes back from her lunch break, me' why not, its in the draw ready to collect, I collect it every month' "yes but she has to be here" me 'but you just get it out of the draw and hand it over, it's not like I'm asking you to make up the prescription, that I could understand, its just eye drops, that are manufactured, she hasnt done anything, other than make sure the correct box is put in the bag' "sorry, she has to be here", "OK, so when I collect you always hand over the item, you never show it to her to check its the correct one, so why does she have to be here", "she just does". ' I know I'm not going to get anywhere here but rather than say she just does, explain why she just does" "well she does, it's the law", 'what law?' "a pharmacist has to be on the premises when handing over prescriptions, 'what, even though she doesn't check to see if you're giving me the correct one, when she is here", 'yes' 'ffs, that's ridiculous'.

I've had to become one of those hoarder types, the ones i hate, a couple of months supply in the cupboard, only because the number of times, they're out of stock and its 2-3 weeks before we can get them.

Just spoke to my misses, who is a dispenser in a pharmacy, and she says it's true. You can buy over the counter medicines (GSL's) but can't be issued with prescriptions without a pharmacist on the premises.

I didn't know this but I always sensed there was something, and you have confirmed that. I always wondered why I had to wait when the pharmacist wasn't there and now I know.

I get that they can't make up or dispense prescriptions but when it's already been made up and they just hand it over, in a sealed package, after checking name and address, without the pharmacist overseeing it baffles me, why they have to be there. Fair enough if there's an issue with what I'm or others are collecting but not when it's so straightforward

    Two simple rule Pinkie

Pet insurance, if the quote is say £30 pound a month put £5 or £10 away somewhere safe and use for your pets treatment, unless you are really unlucky you can afford a holiday etc from the money you dont use

We have two pedigree Bengal cats, the insurance quote for them was £70 ponds a month over 13 years that equates to £10,920, the amount our cats have cost us that could have been claimed back is approx £1,000

Electrical appliance insurances are the biggest rip off, they usually are trouble free for five years and you then replace them, the cost of replacing is usually less than half of what you would pay to insure them

Has happened to me on more than one occasion - they'e also been out of stock several times - my missus has switched to a smaller pharmacy that's literally about 3 doors down from our Boots - they never seem to be out of stock and I suspect have 2 pharmacists on at any one time because I've never had the out to lunch issue with them.

Yeah this is what I'm gonna do from now on (apart from my insurance company state that you have to pay for a full year, ****s)

I challenged them yesterday on the 'undiagnosed' symptoms and they are now coming up with some other bullshit excuse that because I made an amendment on my policy, which then was within a 14 day period from the first vet treatment, the claim can't be paid

These companies are ****ing shyster's the lot of them. They'll use every excuse they can come up with not to pay out.

Anyway, I'm taking your advice Duggie, gonna put the money aside each month instead and that way at least I know it's there !

    Yeah they are arseholes mate

As per my reply to Duggie, they are now coming up with some other BS excuse about a policy amendment that fell between the 14 day period for new claims.

Yeah it was change of date for the dog's age, I noticed it was wrong by a year so I thought I'd better change it, coz you know otherwise the ****s would invalidate the policy....

Anyway, they amended it, increased my premium to reflect the change

    and still declined the payout

Got mine with Tesco and had it since she was a pup - she's insured for a stupid amount as I did the premium policy (worked for them at the time so got a daft discount) but it's true what was written above - if I'd put money away each month instead, we'd have saved a small fortune ...

Might be worth you contacting Citizens Advice / Insurance ombudsman ...
