i'm at that age now where my reflexes aren't what they used to be, nor is my tenacity to replay parts of a game multiple times..........basically i play on easy now and enjoy the story, so maybe i'll give elden ring a miss.

Similarly chucked a lot at it, been through it twice, can't quite find it in me to complete it for a third time. Beautiful game, only spoiled by the real vaguness of the questlines.

If anyone hasn't got into it, now CDPR have reworked Cyberpunk 2077 (now 2.0) I cannot recommend it highly enough. Most of the glitches are gone, graphically sensational. Better (also different) than Elden Ring, excellent combat, storylines, writing, actor contribution (Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba), variation, etc. Complete freedom to play how you want to play with decisions affecting the game later on with no answer or path ever really being "right".

Starfield by contrast I hated. Glitchy, far, far too big and subsequently vague with more or less every quest being "go here/fetch that/bring it here". The ambition is there, but it's just far too big for a more casual player. Cyberpunk, load it up, do a couple of gigs, level up, turn it off. Starfield, load it up, spend 15 hours creating a character, another 10 doing the tutorial, get sacked, do one mission, waste another week, get divorced.

I'm probably "that age" too lol - I just kept going (think i totalked about 300hrs to finish including a load of side quests etc, so worth the money), but I get what you mean about replay etc.

If you've ever tried, Skyrim, Fallout etc, Starfield is well worth a go

Started NG+ for Elden Ring, but decided to take a break and enjoy something else.

A lot of people are saying Starfield works better once you've completed the main game - not too far away, but enjoying it so far.

Lies of P sounds and looks pretty good too, probably next on the list

Currently playing a lot of stuff on my ROG Ally, love the portability

CDPR have always been short staffed, mate. That's changing - there's been some low level acquisitions that have bulked them out and they completely dissolved the Gwent team as well as pairing back the Cyberpunk team post-DLC.

Next gen Witcher stuff will be amazing, I have no doubt. The roadmap from CDPR looks intense (how long did it take to bring out Witcher 3 following Witcher 2?! And now they're banging out 3 in a row?!), but given the only real competition is GTA6 after Bioware spunked their entire load on Starfield, they may well become top dogs. Witcher 2, 3 and Cyberpunk all arguably top 10 games of all time.

Witcher 4+ could see you create a character rather than play with Geralt, or so I hear. Playing as Vesemir is the main rumour but I reckon that's smoke & mirrors. 'Build-A-Witcher" would be huge. They do need to work out the weapon scaling issue, mind; NG+ on Witcher3 was poor. Spend an entire game finding Aerondight and Wolf School armour, only to find a better rusty sword and tabard in a crate next to a dead soldier.....
