Massive game coming up on Friday night as we simply have to keep the momentum going and with Wales playing a must win match on Tuesday night the quick turnaround won't make it easy. Finland are away to San Marino tomorrow night so Kamara shouldn't have too many problems and in other news Gruev played the full 90 mins for Bulgaria earlier today as they drew 2-2 away in Serbia and that's their campaign now over with.
This is one reason why there's too much international football; Cyprus 0 points (group A) Gibraltar 0 points (group B) Malta 0 points (group C) San Marino 0 points (group H) Leichtenstein 0 points (group J) Faroe Islands 1 point (group E) Estonia 1 point (group F) Andorra 2 points (group I) The major Leagues in Europe should not have to repeatedly close down just so these minows can have their payday, but now the Saudis with their £10 Billion a year sponsorship of FIFA have bought football until the equally bought World Cup in 2034 don't expect changes anytime soon.
Interesting report in BBC Sport/Football on the state of injuries in European football. A hangover from last years World Cup and lack of rest before this season kicked in. Newcastle and Man Utd both have 14 players out injured and most prem teams have plenty out and a hell of a lot of hamstring injuries. The most intensive leagues are the Prem and German league and they are suffering most and the number of days per injury has gone up by 11.5 days per injury. Thinking how much the FA are going to be paying clubs in the prem in compensation payments. The Spanish league are having to pay Barcelona €4m for Gavi alone…
Kieran MaGuire has said he has seen 2 documents backing up Leeds compensation claim from Everton. 6 clubs are involved and all have a valid claim as it’s now proved that Everton got a sporting advantage for the last 2 seasons. Sporting advantage on spend and wages means they cheated:…. Backed by the likes of Leicester, Southampton and Burnley among other clubs to be relegated in that time, the group will have a strong case to claim as it has already been decided that the Toffees gained a sporting advantage as a result of their rule breach. As Maguire said, it is now a case that this decision may be made somewhere further along the line, with Everton said to appeal the decision, so the outcome of that appeal could have a direct impact on Leeds’ legal case. It does seem, though, that the club will have a good case to claim financial recompense from Everton, and has every intention of doing so when that opportunity or situation arises in the coming months.
Really hope we walk away from this Doc. It's not going to look great to most football fans. As ive said many times football has become money obsessed and this is yet another example. Concentrate on our own game, get promoted if that's what the majority want and build a proper pl club. Our owners are meant to have billions so we don't need Everton's scraps, f**k them
So that means all other 18 PL clubs would be entitled to compensation as the outcome of every club was potentially altered (apart form the winners) and a higher finishing position in the League is worth more money. Which is why the PL administer sanctions for rule breaking and all the clubs agree to be governed by the League. If clubs are going to individually seek compensation there is then no reason for the League to administer a collective punishment on behalf of all clubs.
Its now over £3m per league position and when we finished 9th it was £2m so we got an extra £26m that season. It then went to £2.5m per position but only earned an extra £10m the season we survived. Cheating should really mean automatic relegation to be fair to every club
Agree with you. We got relegated because the team was really crap and we had three coaches in one season.
