Perfect situation for Labuschagne, where he doesn't need to score quickly and can just nudge it around.
Have to hand it to the Aussies, they know how to silence a crowd. I think the Indians were expecting a party today, nevermind...
Very good. I seem to recall you agreeing with me about Smith and Labuschagne. If I was as sad as you I'd dredge up all the times you've been wrong about cricket but I can't really be arsed.
Well done Aussie's, perfectly executed plan and really silenced both the Indian players and their fans. Take a bow, thoroughly deserved. It's been an enjoyable world cup, some memorable performances and some huge disappointments (England)! Definitely Travis Head as player of the match.
Nice one Aussies. I genuinely thought the fix was in for the Indians, but happily not. Glad for Travis Head too, the most likeable of the current bunch playing for Australia.
Could only stay up and watch until Kholi got out. Thought we'd be a chance at that stage but didn't really believe we could do it. Tremendous effort and this group really needs to be talked about in the same breath as other great sides from the past. Well done Pat and the lads..
That's exactly why I did it, because you often dredge up stuff people have said previously. Anyway, it was only a bit of fun you miserable old git.
Will this revert to the old Cricket Thread now? England playing yet again, this time in the West Indies for a bit. Windies didn’t even go to the World Cup, did they? England 193-5 batting first after 35 overs. Few big names for England not on this odd short format only tour.
Windies win with some ease. Hmmm meanwhile Mitchell Johnson asks a series of pertinent questions about why the **** David Warner is still playing Test cricket for Australia and gets to pick his own retirement date. Nice one Mitch. See BBC Sports.
I didn't even know this was going on. It's sad that England games against the Windies no longer generate very much interest. Fair play to Johnson for his comments about Warner and also to Pat Cummins for his advocacy of action against climate change.
I’ve never been to the West Indies and investigated going to catch some of this series, until I realised it didn’t involve Tests. The place I’d love to go to is Cuba, but Biden hasn’t reversed Trump’s decision to make it ****ing difficult and expensive to go to the US if you’ve been to Cuba, and I’ll definitely be back in the States soonish. Seems like a policy based on spite to me. Thanks mod(s) for renaming thread.
Obviously, some bad blood between them. Warner has always been the type, you either love him or hate him or hate him even more ................. most in the latter l guess. He's definitely been a good batsman, although l tend to think he has been the cause that most the shiit that has stuck. I still can't get over him jumping like a jackass when getting 50. In our day, 50 was and still is nothing ............ move along and keep betting. Some of the greats would barely acknowledge 100 let alone a 50.............. or maybe l'm just stuck in a time warp.
Mitchell Johnson has gone up hugely in my estimation..... fair play to him for saying what a lot of people are thinking..... he comes across as someone who understands cricket values....... Now all together....... "He bowls to the left, he bowls to the right.......that Mitchell Johnson....." Fair play to him for also coming back from that episode to scar the sh1te out of batsmen, England players in particular..... All round good sport....
Not generating a lost of interest here Aussie.... beeb text are covering India v England ladies Test in Mumbai..... However, they did post the following message a little while back.... 66 overs Ind 313 -5 Two runs from the over. David Warner is out too. This has been a lovely period for the England fan.
