It's bollocks, ambulances are exempt from ULEZ charges. Exemptions You don't have to pay the Congestion Charge or register with us if the vehicle is recorded at the DVLA in one of these categories: Two-wheeled motorbikes (and sidecars) and mopeds Emergency service vehicles, such as ambulances and fire engines, which have a taxation class of 'ambulance' or 'fire engine' on the date of travel NHS vehicles that are exempt from vehicle tax Vehicles used by disabled people that are exempt from vehicle tax and have a 'disabled' taxation class Vehicles for more than one disabled person (for example Dial-a-Ride) that are exempt from vehicle tax and have a 'disabled' taxation class This information will be on your vehicle's V5C (logbook). If you are unsure then please contact us.
if there’s 65m available to fund NHS ambulances, then it should go to the NHS staffing instead . I am over simplifying the process obviously. There lies an issue as well - nhs trusts! That is also a point . The use of agency staff in NHS needs to stop . The costs are astronomical with circa 15% earned in commission for the agency.
Ok, so they’re not spending 65m on ambulance upgrades just to meet ULEZ. The article does say the exemption is temporary . Interesting to know if that’s true. Had to actually read daily mail! I really should have not jumped in based on a headline . Poor show.
I wasn't aware of @Archers Road's point too. It's probably just new ambulances they've bought that the 'Anti-ULEZ' campaigner leaked as gammon-bait.
The awarding of government contracts needs to be overseen by a public body with full transparency. VIP queues , newly formed companies, party donators . Highly corrupt.
Yeah , if that’s the issue ie replacing old with new, upgraded , better equipped ambulances then that actually makes sense. Need to check exemption timeline etc but guess it’s swings n roundabouts- upgrade in short to medium term to meet ulez - long term better facilities for patients in ambulances. I’ve jumped two footed without looking into it . It’s Sunday and I’m hungover .
3/5 of those agencies donate to the Tory party as well. Doubtless, they'll shift to donating to Labour IF (still an if in my book - Murdoch still has something up his corrupt sleeves) they do win the next election. Wes Streeting and his "We're open to bungs too" recent statements do nothing to inspire confidence.
Do you mean the ****wit that not one of you dopey turds could get close to showing was wrong, and that has subsequently had some of the points I raised officially proven correct? You're so ****ing thick, you pluck any bit of ****e you think supports your bigoted view, without really giving it any thought at all.
The waste in the NHS is disgraceful. There are many, many groups that have well qualified, well paid staff performing no nursing functions. They are linked to areas of what was Public Health, that get involved in measures that others are already tasked with dealing with. It needs a major root and branch overhaul.
It's a bit of a red herring, and pretty much academic, as I understand it these changes are over and above those that would normally be required for replacement vehicles, and all to comply with something based on very, very poor evidence and lies.
I reckon you find reading exhausting. The absence of any meaningful content in your reply is predictably notable.
