Gordon Elliott with 15 of the 22 runners in the Troytown - that just cannot be right.

Meanwhile Mullins goes straight from bumpers to novice chasing with Fact To File - I guess we will know after the race whether he made the right decision but you'd think he knows what he's doing ;)

Gordon Elliott runs ONLY 15 in the Troytown tomorrow and is on fire recently so I am doing the most logical thing I can think of and picking one against his lot...many I suspect will only be out to finish down the field for later in the year etc so I think Limerick Lace 10/1 Navan 2.30 might offer a bit of value each way for another trainer going along nicely in Gavin Cromwell. 5lb claimer up and with a reasonably nice weight suggests he is going to put his best foot forward. He will need to run up to near his best to land it but has the potential to do so I believe.

Another one caught my eye at a nice price is Falvio 16/1 Navan 12.45. I was tipped this guy on course earlier in the year when trained by Tony Martin. He didn't win but gave the impression he had more in him, being kept well back before trying to make late ground in a couple of starts but not being able to get to the winner. Since then he switched hands and now runs for Colm McBratney who started him out over 3 mile earlier this month and that now looks like a leisurely pipe opener as he quickly reverts back to 2 mile here - the distance he has ran best at thus far. At the price I am very cautiously optimistic he just may have a race of this nature in him given the on course information for him was strong earlier in the year.

Fascinating Beginners again today after Facile Vega's imperious showing yesterday with Fact To File going straight from Bumpers to the big 'uns, following in Florida Pearl's hoof prints. He's odds on currently so doesn't offer any value from a punting perspective and American Mike won't be easy to beat if fully wound up either so a nice race to see unfold.

Best of luck to anyone having a go.

And 3 of the other 6 from De Bromhead. Nothing from Mullins. Very odd

Something hasn't gone to plan you would think. We have seen an unbelievable amount of rain since mid July here, I wonder has that had some impact on getting certain animals ready or as race fit as he would like.

12 winners from 38 runners in November is still not bad. Give it another 6 weeks and he’ll be flying by Christmas.

No, it is a very good strike rate for what he has been sending out.

Any fancies at Cheltenham tomorrow? Had a brief glance through the card there earlier. What do you make of the Mullins runner in the Greatwood?

Funnily enough just had a look at this race STH and if that was trained by anyone else you wouldn’t give it a prayer would you.

I don't think you would have it in as current fave anyway, no. Must be value elsewhere?

Not looking beyond the top weight in the Greatwood. Nemean Lion to win. Gin Coco the danger and a solid e/w

Looks a tough young horse. Luccia is interesting in it I feel. Think she is a classy horse but hasn't been on form the last couple of outings. That is maybe where I'd side if pushed, her class could prevail.

When she hosed up at Exeter in February I was willing Henderson to send her to the Supreme. With hindsight that was fanciful and I'd agree with you that her last couple have runs have left a bit to be desired. Of course it could be that this has been her long-term aim so they have had the hand brake on last couple of runs to get a nice mark - does "straight bat" Henderson really do that sort of thing though?

The Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham (15:30) run over an extended 2m. on the forecast soft ground, is as competitive as it gets. Many in with sound chances, but I'll go with the French-bred It's Gino gelding, Sonigino. Has pretty decent form lines and ran well to finish third in the Chepstow Silver Trophy 36-days ago in first run of new season. Conditions today will suit him, so has a real squeak to make a podium finish. Wearing tongue-strap. Will be ridden by the very promising young conditional, Freddie Gingell (5), for the Paul Nicholls yard. Trainer has two runners in the race, so I might well haved picked the wrong one, but what the heck!

11/1 is the best price at time of writing, and is available in about 10-places atm. E/W best option, of course.

Very nice from Jonbon. JP McManus has never won the Champion Chase - might Jonbon be the one to end his wait?
