If its a 10 points deduction for one rule breach ..
How many points for 100 rule breaches? I make it 1000 points give or take. That should be enough to relegate City

I remember when the PL said “it’s unfair to punish the fans” by giving the big six a points deduction.

I hate Everton a lot, but I still can’t wrap my head around such a big punishment for such a minor crime, when we have seen way worse things go unpunished. It properly stinks tbh.

Luton and Swindon would argue that Everton are getting off lightly compared to how they were treated for financial shenanigans

They weren’t in the premier league at the time though, were they? Premier league has always operated differently

It's hardly minor is it? They knew they were taking big risks with meeting the FFP rules and still took those risks. They've got no excuses and deserve the punishment.

Swindon won the play offs meaning they should have been promoted to division one, instead in effect they were demoted 2 divisions.
    Small club big punishment.

Yes you are correct, 2 divisions relegation was deemed too harsh.

That's the one I thought was the harshest punishment I've ever seen. Very nearly killed the club

I strongly disagree with points deductions for clubs where they have breached financial play rules. Whilst it is amusing to see Everton suffer, the reality is that points deductions are not the answer and that some sort of redress against the directors responsible would be far more appropriate. As has been alluded to above, if this is an issue for a number of clubs in a league, it will have a disproportional effect upon who wins and who gets relegated. Ultimately, you would have a lead where the winner would be the team whose financial management was the most compliant. For me, the whole idea of points deductions has no logic and affects the fans more than anyone else. This is especially the case because it is very difficult to argue that Everton have benefitted from bending the rules. The money they have spent has never lifted them above a bottom of the table team for a long while now. Where is the advantage to Everton other than a new stadium which, in my opinion, is something no team should be penalised for given the state of some of the older grounds in the leagues.

The alternative would be to loosen the regulations regarding financial air play or go stricter on the requirements fr "fit and proper" owners. Implimentation of points deductions has had catastrophic effects upon clubs like Portsmouth who have been out of the top half of the professional leagues for a good while. The fans are the ones being punished where those culpible for the mess quickly move away from football.

In my opinion, a ten point deduction at this point in time is not the right decision. The league is supposed to reflect the performance of a team on the field and nothing else. The points need to be reinstated immediately and I think the people regulating football need to start looking at the kind of people running clubs and maybe introduce things like transfer embargoes or restictions upon the players registered with a club. I would like to see the PL / FL have the power to ban less scrupulous directors from the sport.

This is another good reason to do away tih points deductions. Imagine a season where the league title and relegation positions might be dictated by lawyers.

One of mine is City-Leicester-Bolton-Stockport-Chesterfield (for about £1500). Our friends down the road are doing their best to try and spoil it for me.

Yeah ultimately nobody gives a **** about Everton. Man City and Chelsea are big factors as to why the PL is so popular so whatever punishment they get won’t relegate them or anything like that

Disagree fully. The PL is the PL; it'd do perfectly fine without any one team. Serie A has had multiple big clubs relegated for various infractions and has grown substantially in recent years.

I don't expect City to be relegated, but not because the PL is ****ting themselves over lost revenues.
