Well another snooze fest International break and a pain when you stop when your on a roll. We cant even do much coaching as not only have we lost half the first team to Wales we have countless first teamers away and then U21s, 20s, 19s and 18s away so can’t even backfill much. Due to us playing Rotherham on the Friday we will have some players who haven’t even trained with the first team. We will see the 3 Welsh lads playing full games and even young Archie will be putting in full shifts as he captains the England U18s. Wonder if Skibby has left the club on good terms, because if he has he may want a couple of his ex Leeds charges on loan at Lincoln. Imagine Joseph, Gyabi and McGurk would benefit from regular first team football in L1 for a few months. Max Dean who we sold to MK Dons last January following Jacko, is still only a baby but now playing and scoring goals regular. Man City made record revenues and record profits for last season. This was done despite some still screaming cheat. The FFFP rules make cheating hard and in the season before when loads screaming cheat, they made massive profits on player sales. The latest accounts show massive profits from player sales again, so shouting cheat rings hollow. They even brought in £300m in tv revenues mainly due to winning the Champions League. They paid out record wages due to playing on 4 fronts which meant bonuses but still made massive profits. So yes City pay some big fees for players but sell lots of players for big profits which means the new players are coming in for free in simplistic terms. Not going to be many clubs in the UK making money in football. Speaking of actual cheats well done Everton you managed to cheat for over 3 years and should have been relegated ages ago, but you got away with it and got a measly 10 point deduction. Anyone interested in watching England? No me either. Gnonto may have tempted more offers from Italy though: Italian site OA Calcio handed Gnonto a rating of 8/10 for his display on Thursday, saying the Leeds ace was the best player on the pitch in San Marino during the win. A performance worth remembering.“The best on the pitch without a doubt. A performance worth remembering for the Leeds striker, topped with two goals and winning a penalty. Its November and already Ryan Kent’s been mentioned even though he’s at Fenerbahce in Turkey. Marcelo Bielsa now beating world champions Argentina 2-0 after beating Brazil last time out. Bielsa will have mixed feelings about the result for obvious reasons as well as being one of the Nations he has coached. Argentina losing its first game since winning the World Cup. Bielsa’s win ratio with Uraguay now over 71%.
It is thought that Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear was jointly responsible for prompting the Premier League investigation into Everton’s spending, according to The Athletic. David Ornstein reports via the outlet’s website on 17 November, in the wake of the 10-point deduction handed down by the independent commission, that the Elland Road executive had co-signed a letter with Burnley chairman Alan Pace which originally set the ball rolling on the league’s process.
Lionel Messi: He said: “You can see Bielsa’s hand on the way Uruguay is playing. In all the national teams or clubs, including Argentina, his style was very recognizable. And he has a good generation of players [in Uruguay].”
Leicester are now considering their options now that Everton are guilty. Leeds and Burnley already sent in solicitors
Lots of people saying why are we suing Everton when it made no difference last season as we would still have been relegated? Would we? Season before last Everton took 4 points of us and last season took another 4 points. Both seasons they cheated which is a fact. Take last season if they had fielded a legal team against us we should maybe have won both games so there’s 6 points. On top of that there’s the small matter of £3m per league position…..
In my heart of hearts Doc I wouldn’t have wanted us to retain our PL status based on legality. Minus 15 who gives a …… it wouldn’t be very Leeds after all, but, for all of the clubs involved over the last couple of seasons, it surely would have made a difference if Everton were docked points when they should have been because it would have brought them really into a relegation dogfight and who knows how any of the teams would have reacted? Maybe Southampton would have suddenly found inspiration, who knows? Equally, and for the sake of fairness, if I were an Everton fan, I would rather have taken the punishment and gone down when they were clearly pap rather than maybe getting sucked in when they should be comfortable because the bottom few clubs are so bad. Thems the breaks I guess.
For the record, just in case it is a pedantic night special, I know we wouldn’t have stayed up, Leicester would but you get my drift
Marcos is right of course as we will never know. Season before last we were fighting and Everton were struggling all season and should have gone down but Burnley did so you can see why they are upset. When decisions are made it affects everyone else in the fight and things could change for better for some or worse with others. The outcome however has been a false one for at least the last 2 seasons. Our survival against Brentford could have already been determined and be well safe and mid table. So the players feel better about the new season instead of shutting themselves from day one. It could have meant last season not been a war and a mental test who knows. But having a false league table at the end due to cheating ..,,,,
We won't be getting anything from Everton. They've got away with it. Everyone including the FA know they've been given easy passage for this. It stinks but that's it, it's over. They'll survive and Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd will go back down. Everton will pass go yet again and collect the 120 million that comes with it. Everyone else, including Leeds, will just have to suck it up (again).
Everton surely cannot be judged responsible for the time the PL took to conclude their investigations and ultimately administer the punishment for being found in breach of PL regulations. Leeds, Burnley, Southampton and Leicester would therefore have to sue the PL for damages which won't happen. Secondly all the clubs signed up and agreed to fully adhere to the rules and regulations of the PL including any disciplinary actions or punishments. Which is why it's hard to see how any club could subsequently claim they've been hard done by especially when their only real complaint is about the timing of the points deduction because it hasn't directly benefited them.
Rumblings that 777 Holdings cannot complete the deal to buy Everton if it looks like relegation looms or if Everton have to pay compensation. If that happens they go into administration and get a further 9 point deduction guaranteeing relegation. This deal was done and dusted a few weeks ago but the potential points sanction forced everything on hold and Kenwright dying didn’t help. Work will stop on the new stadium again at the end of the month without capital injection from 777
Beyond belief and that's from someone who actually enjoys international football. Qualifiers desperately need a rethink.
Wales have to score in the last 10 mins or they are probably not going to qualify. Guess that's good for us though.
