Yeah, although I don't think that I thought that Hamas built them under that specific hospital (unlike other locations), the only thoughts I heard was whether Hamas had extended the tunnel infastructure or converted the bunker(s).

If you're Hamas, you would probably use any pre existing underground facilities. And build others out of sight too. Otherwise they would have been destroyed by Israel years ago if they were in plain sight.

This claim that they deliberately put them where civilians live, in order to use Palestinians as human shields is a non starter for me, because where else are they supposed to put them ? Gaza is a narrow strip of land that's around 7.5 miles wide. There's literally nowhere to put a military base separate from the rest of Gaza, even if they had the ability and means to do so.

I genuinly don't know what the answer is to the situation. If I was Israeli and there was a threat to me and my family, I'd want to eradicate that threat. This isn't like us fighting with the IRA, this shhite is more real (from a citizen point of view), how do you eradicate an evil that it's incorporated itself quite naturally in the population - it's either kill or be killed, taking all the human sentiment out of it.

Two dickheads decided to climb on top of the Royal Artillery War Memorial and wave palestinian flags.

This memorial is to almost 50,000 soldiers from The Royal Artillery who died in WW1. The thing to note is that it commemorates in particular MANY of those soldiers who died abroad (I think on the Western Front) and many of their bodies were either never recovered or unable to be brought back. It is a place where many come to pay their respects and some, particularly those in the regiment and the forces will come and pray for them.

Why the context? Because there is something called respect. And even though it may not be breaking the law, you have to show some decency and respect. If this was a mosque, and some non-muslim climbed on top and started waving a flag and shouting all sorts, these guys would be the first to be up in arms about it, raging.

Secondly, to do this only does your cause harm. All it does is damage and undermine the righteousness of what you're protesting for. I wonder how many ppl will look at that and feel like they can't be associated with idiots like these.

I was listening to a young soldier from the regiment who spoke very well about this. He gave the two guys the benefit of the doubt, stating that, to him, it's like walking on the soldiers graves, but that's not necessarily what both these guys were thinking when they did what they did. To him it was ignorance, and that these guys (and others) need to be educated about what these memorials mean and what they're for.

There were only two positives I took from that video. First that there were others there who realised what these guys were doing was wrong. One person saying "Brother show some respect" is something reassuring at least. And the second thing, that both got down quietly once they were spoken to by the police.

Anyway that was all. I really hope this is a lesson learned and common decency prevails. This sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable.

Hamas only exists though because of Israeli occupation and suppression of Palestinian people.

If there was equity in the region, there would be no need for an armed Hamas.

If you put people in a cage and take away their freedoms, they will fight back.

The solution for me is for a negotiated settlement, a Palestinian state, ending the blockade and illegal settlements.

Easier said than done I freely admit.

Completely agree, having a little respect goes a long way. Otherwise it is silly things like this that get people's backs up. I don't really care about their flags but stepping around a statue that has wreaths on it is a big no no for me. But no harm done, it's been sorted and we move on.

Interesting video here regarding the Haredi community and their resistance to be drafted into the IDF to fight for the state of Israel and Zionism

'We are not Israelis, we are Jews. We don't have any connection to the State of Israel, we are Israelites'

Two of the hostages found dead in buildings 'adjacent' to the Al-Shifa hospital... no details on cause of death that I've seen ...

IDF soldiers have also raided a hospital in the West Bank ...

Benjamin Netanyahu has been forced to admit that Israel hasn't been successful in minimising civilian Palestinian casualties... but blames Hamas for not providing those civilians with adequate training in dodging and weaving fast enough to escape rockets and missiles fired at them by the IDF ...

Gazans are now facing the 'immediate possibility of starvation' according to the UN World Food Programme, due to there now being no electricity and no fuel and therefore no means of preparing food ... and no aid getting in...

Hamas completely reject your solution as it doesn't involve the complete eradication of Israel.

The constant usage of ISIS-Hamas from Israeli spokesman is getting ridiculous after all if Hamas were ISIS the Christians in Gaza would have been slaughtered and the church destroyed by them instead of by Israeli air strikes .

    Deaths reported at UN school-turned-shelter
We are getting reports that a UN school-turned-shelter in northern Gaza has been hit, with many casualties.

The Hamas-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip told the AFP news agency that at least 50 people had been killed in an Israeli strike on the UN run Al-Fakhoura school.

The IDF says it is looking into the incident.

The BBC cannot independently verify what has happened, but we have verified footage that shows many people injured at the site, which is located in the Jabalia refugee camp.
