Make or break for some of these guys now. Another defeat for the likes of Joshua, Wilder or Parker would probably see them finished, aside from some sideshow money-spinners against stupid Youtubers.
Watched the presser for fury vs uysk Fury trying hard but uysk trying to avoid his brain being scrambled. Need them both to sell the fights... too many boring nice boxers these day.
Not seen it yet. Just hope it ends up being a decent fight. We had all these big hitters lined up for some juicy fights 3 or so years ago, but they all avoided each other for fear of losing and are now all just older versions, but without the same sharpness.
Fury tried and uysk was definitely bothered but pretending otherwise. He doesn't like the run rabbit run rabbit stuff. I read the comments after and people saying fury has lost it etc but he's always been like this and boxing needs more of it. All these overpaid rich kids now kissing each others arses in the presser who care more about the pay cheque than breaking someone's face in. No wonder they quit these days.
Yeah, it's all part of the game for Fury, he doesn't seem to get phased by anything and so is happy to dish it out to get a reaction. Wilder too, altough he's just more of a hot head who is ready to scrap literally anyone, anytime, including at the press conferences. Most of the others play the corporate game. Probably not confident enough to back themselves up to be gobby.
The old "He's a good fighter, but I'll do my talking in the ring" is just boring now. Show respect, yes, but at least have an edge. Something. Bring back the crowd-pullers like Ali.
Wilder I always hated but he's good for the division and unlike many doesn't quit. He kind of won me over with the beating he took in the 3rd fury fight. It'll be a shame when he's retired and fury because the others are boring and one in particular is scared in the ring.
There's a reason tyson was liked and it was because he said he was going to eat his opponents children n stuff. That's what people want to hear.
He was exactly what people need in the sport whether people want to admit it or not. He's a really nice bloke now.
Fury is just a plain old pain in the backside who would have been slaughtered in previous eras when there were some actual heavy weight boxers.
