depends what strength they're giving you as weak oral morphine has become fairly standard these days in my area but is much weaker than most imagine.
The real stuff is another story .

 

I had a bad RTA years ago and was on the ward in ****ing agony. They gave me oral morphine every time I pressed the call button, until one kind nurse finally gave me a shot of Morphine in the bum cheeks and that was it .... lights out

 

well actually think a Dr "gave" you the decent morphine as the good stuff needs signing off where as oral morphine just needs recording .
