The Gordon goal should never have stood - and should never stand in any game of football. That it did is both a disgrace and embarrassment - just as Arteta said.
Not 5 minutes later , Martinelli was adjudged to have pushed a defender in the back on the wing for something not close to as strong a push. In fact , multiple times in every PL game defenders get free kicks when they dive after feeling contact when pinned into a corner.
There are no excuses for VAR.
I seem to recall Martinelli get sent off with a second yellow for a push in the back not long ago.
What happened against Newcastle shows that 'subjectivity' can be used to underpin and explain away bias and therein lies the problem with VAR.

What is also even more disturbing is that one of the VAR officials has been moonlighting this year as an official in the Saudi Pro League - in a game played by two teams owned by the same owners of Newcastle. This is not acceptable and a clear conflict of interest. In essence Newcastle are actually playing games with officials on their payroll.

    VARS comments are kinda funny.

As someone who has trains (and teaches) martial arts Judo & Brazilian JiuJitsu.

Normally in football I'm getting annoyed with players going down without any real cause. But with the foul on Gabriel - Joelinton is off the ground his arms are locked so his full weight is coming down on Gabriels neck/upperback. He has no choice but to go down.

It's ****ing bonkers that in a game where players are constantly rewarded for falling down with minimal contact - we now get a situation where an actual foul gets ignored then they have the audacity to double down. What a bunch of corrupt clowns,

Have you ever considered whether you're looking at these with an emotional bias?

    LOL.

I get that Refs shouldn't be abused etc.. But the fact you are not allowed to criticise is ****ing ridiculous.

    No just pure corruption.

Do you think the PGMOL should be free from criticsm? Or should managers be allowed to give their opinions?

Anyone would think Newcastle were the ones wronged with how often some of their fans are still bringing it up (although possibly because of their recent form, there's much else they can cling onto to try and use to rub opposition up the wrong way?).

Not sure it's possible to be more ambivalent about the whole thing. If he gets a touchline, whatever. If he doesn't whatever. It was weeks ago. We've won a couple in a row since then.

Yes, agreed. I'm bored of the whole thing now. What's done is done. I don't appreciate the way the PGMOL and the FA have reacted to this, by attempting to punish any criticism of them from clubs/managers, but it is what it is. Just want to move on from it and look ahead.

Where did you get that from what I was asking?

I'm literally just saying managers should be allowed to voice their complaints.
