So what now for Finlay Gorman if he doesn't like his new life at Man City and want to move back to a club closer to home and just hang out with his schoolmates like a normal teenager ? Well unless he's prepared to quit football that won't be happening any time soon. It's wrong and 14/15 year old boys should be free to move clubs and play for whichever team they choose and definitely not traded as commodities. Can you think of any other industry where this would be allowed to happen with children ?
Latest news on young Gorman is that the deal could net Leeds £5m due to add ons with £2m immediate. hay talking about the last time a deal for a kid this young being Jason Sancho….
Peanuts doc for such a talent and even if we were to eventually to get the full bonuses it’s in years to come. Absolute joke system, dress it up anyway you like. Anyone thinking we’ll really ever be competing in top six are so far off the mark. A Liverpool mate contacted me last night to know what this Archie gray lad was like. Told him to politely f**k off fed up giving away our top talent for last two decades while we’re left with ****e like Bamford
Eire I’m not condoning it just giving perspective. If we paid £1m for Joffy and had to compete with loads of clubs to get him and we get a lot more for this kid. We cannot do anything about keeping him if he wants to go. So not our fault Simple as that. So we are not giving our kids away mate
But Joffy was no addition and we didn't have to compete with the top lot. Not pl standard and wont ever be. This lad had the potential to be the quality of no 10 well be crying out for if were promoted. Under current system we can't progress any more than most other clubs. There should be a cap on the number of youngsters allowed at any club. Allowing the likes of city to hoover up whatever they want is plain wrong and will eventually only ever loan most of them out and recoup their fees and more that way
Imagine how Feyenoord feel about losing their bright spark Summerville 3 years ago when he was just a youngster. We paid £1 million and we could net up to £30 million come the end of the season. Or are we alright with that one?
Good job Victor the alledged clown sorted that new contract out then. Otherwise he'd have already gone for fook all
Struijk is another we stole for a few hundred thousand and Kinnear said we turned down "low teens" (millions) in the summer. McGurk looks the next one coming through. We stole Wigans crown jewels in McGurk and Gelhardt. Look where they are now.
I was referring to Wigan and their financial state. As for Gelhardt. We've kinda killed his career up to date. Dunno whether he will ever regain the confidence levels he had when he first arrived. He needs to leave us as soon as possible for his sake.
He showed signs of real promise but we don't play him in the 21's and we don't play him in the first team. He's a professional substitute, a bit like Jamie Shackleton. If he'd been exposed to 50-60 games open age lower level whilst he was showing confidence you never know.
Maybe but he has a dreadful injury record, niggly ones for amount of game time. Think he's most highly rated on this forum
