I was looking at tickets earlier for a four day festival next summer....£190 including camping....**** paying £175 for a single artist, mugs game. I can get to about five or six regular gigs for that amount....although we're going to see The Prodigy on Thursday which were just over £50 each
Rather depends on the artist and how keen you are to see them I would have thought. I wouldn’t be paying £175 for Ms Swift, but my girls are over the moon. And could have paid a lot more apparently. Whatever floats your boat. And you’d have to pay me to camp, no matter who was on the bill.
An intriguing watch. His body language is as confusing as his life and addiction - but I guess that life identity crisis is just who he is. I hope he does achieve that final stretch in a good place enjoying his life with his wife and daughter and still able to dance with his music safely.
Just watched it. Really rather sad. He’s an immensely likeable character, very bright, and incredibly chaotic. Of course, that’s what we saw in the film, living and working with him must be a nightmare. He clearly doesn’t expect to live long, and there’s a bit of a death wish there. I thought Carl Barat looked just as bad if not worse, and the speed he was talking at made me jump to some hopefully false conclusions. I’m not a Louis Theroux fan, but I don’t have any concrete reason for it, he’s done some great and brave work. I don’t think he was at his best on this one.
This was a far better programme ! Intriguing and awful case, which showed the truth behind Docherty and his horrific entourage from that time. The police investigation was mind numbingly pathetic, and with the aid of modern technology almost certainly confirms that at least 1 member who was present at that party that night(Docherty's minder) was culpable of murder. Strongly recommend watching it if anyone hasn't.
At the time of the murder Pete was going out with a girl my wife was a live in child minder for a few years earlier She was a lovely girl then
There was an opinion piece in the local paper 10 years or so ago and she used the word twice Never seen it before so I had to look it up One of my favourite words now
My lads girlfriend had the same experience as you trying to buy the boy Libertines tickets for Christmas- got to near the top of the queue and the website crashed, all gone by the time she got back on. The lad saw Pete Doherty do an acoustic gig at Coventry Cathedral last year and was mightily impressed.
I was at school with Paul Roundhill, who was Docherty's agent and one of the two suspects in the killing of the poor bloke. Roundhill's dad was Bishop of Dorking!
He had an agent based up here local to us, someone we know. Pete was up doing some gigs during his really bad smack phase and was visiting his agent....jumped in a taxi and asked the driver where he could score...**** me, this town is heroin central and the taxi company is run by the local drug lords so he had no problems!!! We've seen him many times, but one time we were up in Glasgow queueing up to get in when word started to spread he was going to be a no-show....turned out he'd been in court in London and ended up banged up for a while....still, we got to see him a few months later. Since his rehabillitation he's been back up and has done a couple of gigs in the prisons including Barlinnie to show the addicts that rcovery is possible.
Fair play to him if he's helping others get clean. He didn't cover himself with glory by running away after the fatal balcony incident.
