the made up method of control called religion. Santa Clause was a US invention I believe(based on a number of European ‘things’). That’s what people celebrate, Santa…. Not scriptures/texts/books. And that’s me out.
Loads of people go to midnight mass, I've been to midnight mass, purely because I chose to go, so yes to me Christmas is a religious celebration. Although I don't overly like the gift part of Christmas because I think it makes it a material thing and over indulgence, especially when lots of people throughout the world have nothing - although obviously it's nice to have gifts
Used to love going to midnight Mass as a kid - parents had an off licence (as did a couple of uncles) - we shut at 10pm - then coats on and drive into Leicester city centre - family would meet up - hot chocolate or coffee from flasks - into the church and by the time the mass was over and another cuppa outside, you'd know you'd soon be in bed and it wouldn't be long before you'd be up in the morning - family would always go round to another aunt's in Blaby for about 10am on Christmas morning ... my old girl was one of 7 and all but one brother moved down from Lancashire including my grandparents - it's the family thing I remember most fondly - not the presents ... magical ...
Same Dont get me wrong, I will always remember the Christmas when I got Tenchu for my PS1 and spent all christmas and boxing day in my room as a 14 year old playing until my fingers were sore.... But the best thing about Christmas, like I said, was always being on the sofa with my parents and brother, stuffed after a turkey dinner, eating **** loads of Quality Street and Cadbury's Roses, watching Rodney and Delboy get up to their festive shenanigans, then watch Vic & Bob and Matt Lucas make us all crack up in front of the fireplace
Double game night with two of my favourite teams in action. Cray Valley Paper Mills v Charlton and Israel v Switzerland. Up the Paper Mills.
israel isn’t in Europe so is this a friendly if you can even use that word with Israel in same sentence
Israel is in UEFA however. Despite qualifying for a World Cup as part of Asia and generally being quite successful for a small country, aided by Arab countries forfeiting fixtures against them, they and their clubs have been in UEFA for over 30 years. Kuwait didn’t want to play nicely and had them kicked out of Asia in the 70s. Probably due to the fear of losing to a nice multicultural team and being whipped or something. But I’ll probably watch the Cray Valley game.
Go on then Mr Free Thinker, show me where I mentioned Jesus or a view either way in the comment you quoted, in fact include the next two comments from Fosse and Bod, where they mentioned Jesus even, or are you just desperately seeking attention again?
Hey, times are tough. Have to wait to get me new motor, diesel getting expensive and will get a lower trade in way they are talking.
