Maybe. But he was inferring that Bellingham is not there because he doesn’t care about playing for England as his club which Imwould suggest is not the case.
Outsmarted again. I hang my head in shame, yet again. Consider your point well won. You can go to bed grinning with acheivement tonight, my magnificent friend.
England secured their place in the knock-out stage of the FIFA U17 World Cup following a 2-1 win over Iran in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon. They beat New Caledonia 10-0 in the first game.
I'm looking forward to watching the U21 games rather than the first team games this time round. Hopefully all 3 will be featuring at some point in the 2 games. It would be quite something having all 3 play in one match, City having players making up 27% of the team in an England U21 game is quite something. P.S. Before Chazz points out that 2 of them are Liverpool/Man City players, I know.
Croatia and Switzerland are no mugs either. Doesn’t matter who we draw people will still say we had it easy and lost at the first test.
Beginning to fancy Englands chances in the Euros with currently 2 of the best players in the worlld in the squad-Bellingham and Kane. Along with Phil Foden who is currently the best player in thje best team. in the world.
Football's changed a lot of the last couple of years. Will Southgate have them playing in a similar style to the one they're excelling in at their clubs?
My worry for England is the keeper. Pickford hasn’t exactly had a stellar season for Everton, Johnstone has done okay at Palace and is keeping Dean Henderson out and Ramsdale has barely played for Arsenal because Arteta prefers Raya. The only one that’s had form is Nick Pope at Newcastle, but is he of the standard that the rest of the team have? Then who? Joe Hart doing alright at Celtic…nah only kidding. Suppose it would be Trafford at Burnley? At least he’s faced loads of shots.
Pope is a good solid keeper (most of the time), but he's out after surgery on a dislocated shoulder until April. Always a difficult one for a keeper to come back from as well. Southgate will play the 'he's never let me down' card and pick Pickford.
