HNM was an absolutely waste of time and money and I see his fortunes haven't exactly grown since he left us - has it? As far as the comment about us primarily recruiting from the lower levels I can't ever see that credo ever changing under our current set-up with the Lansdowns wanting to do everything on the cheap or lower. In all truth I don't expect our fortunes to improve much either and I have a feeling we will still be discussing the same faults at this time next year under yet another new coach/manager. The mere mention of the term "coach" has set my skeptical mind working overtime as to me it stinks of control from above and that's probably the last thing we need for the new broom because we've all been down this same road before and ended up back at square one. Now we have 2 weeks to ponder what revelations will be revealed the next time out based on Liam getting his feet under the desk, and hopefully kicking a good few arses in the process, to help his thinking in what the hell can he achieve with this motley crew. Good luck man.
The first 45minutes under his belt on the comeback trail. Hope it went well but I expect he won't be ready for a few weeks yet. Dickie and Atkinson has a ring about it. Better balance a bonus.
We really need some stronger players back in the fold for our ongoing benefit and also for Liam to get a decent opportunity to look at the entire squad in full working order. I have a suspicion that if we had a fully fit roster at our disposal we may have lifted some extra points from recent matches where it was evident that the lack of proven players was an overall detriment that was reflected in the final scores. Het ho onwards and upwards.
Bristol City: Liam Manning can trigger another Alex Scott situation if they keep two players sweet Bristol City could have an Alex Scott scenario all over again due to the young talent they have. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...ott-situation-if-they-keep-two-players-sweet/
Bristol City: Simon Jordan makes concerning Liam Manning prediction Liam Manning was appointed Bristol City's new head coach last week. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/b...dan-makes-concerning-liam-manning-prediction/ Steve Lansdowns not Simon Jordans cup of tea
You're entitled mate, personally I have no time for the orange man but he is a big noise on talk sport and people listen to him.
It seems the Tangoman hasn't gotten over us, and SL from his time at Palace. He is probably right, as the last 7-8 years have shown us that we haven't progressed out of the Championship as SL would like. We've tried; throwing money at it, a young up and coming manager with no previous Championship experience, a wiley old fox with bags of previous experience in the Championship, and none of these approached have delivered a top 2, or top 6 finish. Without doubt Jordan is polarising; however, i do agree with a lot of what he says on TalkSport.
I’ve read the article and I’m aware that there is no love lost between him and Bristol City, but I can’t fault much of what he is saying. I’d add that over the years since Gary Johnson, successive managers, players, the Chief Operating Officer, the stadium, the Training facilities - even the Tea Lady has changed - but one person has remained constant throughout ………. and we STILL haven’t made it to the Prem
R&W You could argue the 'one person' who has remained constant has kept our collective head above water.
You could indeed. Our premises and facilities have vastly improved. The Rugby has improved. Even the Basketball has improved. Football on the pitch however has not.
Leeds United are still enjoying the benefits of Lee Johnson's six-figure Bristol City mistake: View This FLW opinion piece looks back to 2016 and a fantastic bit of transfer business done by Leeds United. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/l...ohnsons-six-figure-bristol-city-mistake-view/
interesting piece .. I seem to recall that in 2016 it was one one of 5 pillars periods ... the onus was being put on family "virtues" and attracting young fans for the future! SC was sacked along with his poorer results because of the foul mouthed out burst exiting the tunnel with families and children in very close proximity! LA was sacked at first opportunity due to peeing off the balcony at CHELTENHAM! Water under the bridge.. however ..... had Leeds sold him after a couple years we would have got 25% [ +?] ... never happened so we dipped out .... uuuuuuuuuum now who was that player we picked up for a song [ £3 - £5m+ ] ... had a good season and went for 4 or 5 times that?........ ......swings and roundabouts.... keep em coming WIZ alleviates the boredom and stimulates the brain ....
Don't give a toss about boredom or your understanding and explanation of your view of history, that was a press article and I copied it for all to see, I expressed no individual opinion , the link was there for all interests, you gave yours - well done.
We know where our problems lie and it's right at the top but at least we are not Everton where the owner has totally ruined the club. I hate all this suspect foreign money in the game because, as in the case of Abramovich, we know it is filthy money coming from less than acceptable sources but as usual the supposed moderators of these deals just look the other way. Look back over the last 15 years or so and see the absolutely worst of the worst when you consider the likes of Shinawatra who ended up in jail back in his home country. How on earth can you respect what were all English iconic clubs that have gone down the road of human rights abuses in their ownerships? I complain rather a lot about where I would like Bristol City to be just once in my lifetime, but not at the cost some clubs have been dealt by the FFP police.
