    British music legend Paul Weller is set for a headline gig on the North Yorkshire coast next summer.

    The iconic singer-songwriter will perform a selection of tunes from his career-spanning repertoire at Scarborough Open Air Theatre (OAT) on Sunday ,July 7.

    Weller - known as The Modfather - will be joined by his own live band and special guests Stone Foundation at the 8,000-capacity venue.

    Unfortunately we're fully booked that night Chazz as No. 2 daughter is returning home to accompany me, due to the fact that the Missus refuses to attend a Springsteen concert again due to 'what happened the last time'.

    I'd kinda assumed, given the ticket price, that accommodation was included for those who had to travel.

    Presumably not?

    Went to Wrecking Ball last night for the launch of Derek Forbes autobiography (bassist for Simple Minds, but also played with Bowie, Kirsty MacColl on New England and loads more)
    What a thoroughly nice chap...who has lived a bit (!) but is still really down to earth.
    Great bassist too (voted best in the world in early 80's)
    Had a good natter with him before and after
