Some people seemed to be obsessed with Norwich. Do they have a board?

Not really what I said which is a bit ironic.

For what it's worth, a selection of posts from last week's thread..

(You liked this one by the way)

Now you're quite right, they could have had a falling out and made up and Connolly separate to that injured himself just coincidentally in the same area that was claimed to be the issue last week, or perhaps there was no falling out to begin with. Who knows? You'll note that (outside of the post you liked) none of these quotes come from you, so when I brought it up in this thread, for you to spring up on the defensive and claim I was making things up was a bit weird.

The point of my post in this thread was actually just to say 'in a way it's good to know there really is an injury issue' to clear up the confusion expressed by (amongst others) the above posters. You seem to have taken it as a shot at you. That 'speaks volumes'. You'll no doubt come back to this looking to engage further but this is the last I'm saying on it. The last few match threads have become a complete mess and I'd rather just discuss the game or nothing.

Was it a slow start or do you mean literally the first ten minutes? We had 11 shots 3 on target and 80% possession first half and 9 shots 2 on target in the second half, so based purely on that we were actually more attacking in the first half.

I am inclined to agree though that we gave them way too much time to get back into their shape which was to have 10 men behind the ball, needed to press them quicker. Philogene didn't seem quite at it today but without a natural winger on the other side it was easy for them to double or treble up on him.

Not only that, we can play that way with Greaves at LB (and we do) often enough without the ball.

We shouldn't scoff at a 1-0 win we should respect it. I would far sooner watch a game where we dominate and allow the opposition virtually no meaningful chances on goal, which is far less stressful than looking like we might concede. However, I agree we need to be scoring more goals in games like this, but I would far sooner this is happening now as I am sure we will get better, the important thing is 3 points.

It's worth mentioning last season, Burnley and Sheff U who ran away with the league had games where they scored 1 goal or less in 19 & 23 games respectively, so many teams have similar games.

Football games are also about good defending, and even though Huddersfield offered nothing going forward, credit to them for putting up a very good defensive performance which nearly got them a point.

Credit to us though for keeping going, yes it was frustrating at times, but we kept at it, and a substitute in Vinagre made the difference.

On the game we fully deserved to win, I thought Morton and Coyle were the standouts for me, Morton can fill Seri's position he is that good. Even though Tufan look better when he went a bit deeper, overall I was impressed with his fitness and his work rate, he had a good games as did Twine.

Loved that free kick, well worked and how Delap didn't score god only knows.

How we didn't get a penalty when the defender more or less did a star jump, and it hit his hand I've no idea, but also why we didn't claim it more robustly was a bit strange.

Positives, 3 points, another game we managed to win not succumbing to back to back defeats, going into the international break on the back of a win, and being outside the playoff places on goal difference.

Finally, some will be aware of him, but an Italian guy who supports us was over at Acun's invitation which was a fantastic gesture.

Agree with everything you said there, 3 points was the priority, and it's not particularly easy to score when a team sits that deep. We get given that stonewall pen and they have to come out a lot more (as they did at the end) and perhaps we score a few more. Fine margins.

I wonder if Morton would be available in the summer, but I suspect he'll be another like Delap who will be looking to get a PL loan move.

Maybe City need to think outside of the box here... instead of signing a one year loan (is there a rule that it can only be one year.. I dont know) maybe they do a deal for a two year loan for Morton or Delap or both (if they feel inclined). a loan for other of them to a premier club will only be bottom end firefighting??... Create some stability because if we dont go up, come the close season we will be looking for two key players again.... along with a good few others.. If we then do get up in that period it opens up potential other discussions.

I dont see the advantage to the loaning club to hand out two year loans

It happens semi-regularly in Europe. Andre Silva went to Frankfurt on a two year loan for instance.

In fact Schurrle was loaned to Fulham on a two year loan so it can happen.

Lets take either of them. They are not likely to break through for a couple of years with others before them in the queue and their parent clubs still investing in those positions. lets just say Liverpool and Man City were very happy with their development here. If the players were asked, a) would you like to stay there on loan or b) go to some other outfit uproot and readjust and potentially go backwards whats the difference between. one year and two year loan.

That’s down to forwards who are not sharp in bathe box for the most part or who are static, Twine mad so many channel runs today and our defensive midfield never looks up .

It can happen but I would think it would be very financially advantageous to the loaning club.
Most clubs want to make a decision on their player on a yearly basis.

Particularly Philogene and Morton getting into the U21's England team for the first time after playing with us has got them noticed. This wouldn't go unnoticed by their teams they are contracted too, and would probably go a long way to us getting first choice again if they deem another loan move is beneficial. In addition, they both seem to be enjoying their football.
