That was a good battling performance. Was not at our best but still came away with 3points. Happy days
One thing that baffled me was we kept playing it long to KWP, which wouldn’t make sense at the best of times given his size, but even less so against a team of giants.
Just got in from the game via a few pubs. Massive shout out to both centre backs today, West Brom were a big team. Second shout out to the fans. The atmosphere was fantastic, no one leaving early and a constant noise.
Just watched extended highlights on YouTube, unable to get too involved in info earlier visiting a very sick relation, the first time I've not bothered looking at the phone until after the match. Cheered me up quite a bit seeing such positive posts after a sad afternoon.
This made me laugh earlier https://x.com/meninblazers/status/1723437090308858246?s=46&t=_K3ebQLBr0z1oeZ8zq6wgg
Never thought I'd be saying 'thank **** for Bazunu and Holgate' but so I was, walking away from St. Mary's tonight. Excellent from both of them, and that's not to do down THB, who was classy again. We're just getting very used to it with him already.
I'm not getting to watch many of the games at the moment but what I have seen has been a huge improvement. Credit to Martin, I'm glad its working out for him because its great for us all. And todays result not just good for us but pulls back 3 points on Leicester, everyone thinking they were already out of reach was very premature. So many games to play and hopefully we can pick up where we left off after the break.
Agreed. Regarding THB, he’s developing into some player, orchestrating the team already. I noticed during WB’s 2nd half revival, we were stroking the ball around at back really well but definitely under increasing pressure from them; created an opening to push forward but the opportunity was lost & ball went out for a throw to them. TBH berated AA for not losing his man to create the forward outlet & he was right. Definitely leadership material there.
THB is England U21 captain after all so it’s little surprise to see him showing that leadership on the pitch for us too. He’s young, but already a Championship winner and what a fantastic player he is. Holgate did have a brilliant game too and I’m pleased he’s getting the plaudits after a very poor start.
Agree. Outstanding player and vocal leader. Exactly what we’ve been missing for ages. Make the most of him while he’s here
I think yesterday has shown that in the Championship we do have depth in the squad. Bedders who has been awesome was suspended, Holgate comes in and is POTM. Manning was a starter for 13 games is suspended, Bree comes in and takes his place. Smallbone goes off, we are initially weakened, but Charles slots in perfectly. Sulemana goes off (IMO having a bit of an off day), Fraser comes on and didn't score this time, but sets up the winner. Armstrong A, our top scorer, scores the winner and is then replaced by a none too shabby Loch Ness Drogba.
He’ll definitely be off if we don’t get promoted. If we get promoted I think there’s a pretty good chance we sign him.
I'm usually harsh on Sulemana but to be fair to him, WBA were doubling up on him the whole game. That said though, he isn't having the same impact that Fraser is having, despite playing 70 mins to Fraser's 20 mins. I'd be dropping Sulemana for the next game, because I think that's the only way you can get it through to him, that he needs to be more of a team player.
Fraser is coming on against tired legs, which are created by Sulemana. Which is why he has a bigger impact.
