    cheers RCL.

I read somewhere the other day that there’s not a lot of money available for January. So that’s concerning with the evident gaps we clearly need to plug.
Just hope we’re not in for a run of games where it’s all gonna fall apart and previous mentality kicks in.

I see where you're coming from in your last point but IMHO I think he is correct.
If we have a clear style of play then players know what is expected of them when asked to join and those identifying players would not be able to choose unsuitable players.
No way would Lo Celso or Ndombele joined us if we had always played like this as the club would not have identified them as suitable and they would have known they wouldn't play unless they shaped up.

I prefer to watch us try to what I have witnessed over the previous 4 years.

And the honeymoon is not over for me. Rip out 4 first choice players from any side and they'd struggle...City lost 2 games when Rodri was suspended!

Completely disagree...we almost got a draw precisely because of the way we played...2-1 or 4-1 was irrelevant on the night, if Bentencur or Son Scored their chances we'd have got a deserved point.

We were naive and stupid, Chelsea’s forwards are abysmal yet we opened up to allow them to have umpteen chances at Vicario which they finally ended up lapping up. If Vicario wasn’t as excellent as he was Monday night, that’s an 8 or 9-1 scoreline. He was the sole difference between a beating and an absolute annihilation.

Our attacking play was poor. If we had scored a second goal, maybe Wolves wouldn’t have come back so strongly like they did in the second half.

Can’t really blame anyone in particular for their goals.

We have drawn 2 and lost one so far. Very good.

For me he probably left that pitch with a 9 or 10/10 performance, despite having conceded 4 goals, I think it’s telling that tactically something weren’t right, lol.

I blame Romero and Udogie more than the manager but Ange gift wrapped that win in the end, Chelsea never had to work for their goals, we opened up our own defence for them and left Vicario hanging in the end.

Whereas today, we tried playing the “Ange way” despite having a number of players that can’t play Ange-ball and it ended up seeing us basically play more like Conte-ball due to the lack of technical ability and pace from some. I expected a loss though due to the forced changes so I can’t be too disappointed, it’s just a little frustrating when it feels like better decisions could’ve been made. I’m also not liking the lack of faith in youth, was something I was hoping Ange would be better than Conte at. Donley could’ve easily come on today, either in midfield or attack as none of our CMs nor Son were any good, it must also be disheartening for Phillips knowing that non-CBs are being picked ahead of him.

6 goals conceded in 2 games with Dier playing

    pathetic player

pathetic of the club to still have him on the books

    Davies, Dier

I just don’t bother wasting my time when these names are on the team sheet

    glad I didn’t watch today

The team and formation were basically a Conte XI with Brennan Johnson instead of Harry Kane, so there are no surprises about the performance or result.

Come the other side of the break I hope we will see a sharper Bentancur back permanently in the side. We sorely miss his guile and creativity, especially with Maddison out. Udogie will be back giving us pace and balance on the left, but the area of serious concern is central defence.

I read an analysis somewhere that it would have been better for Romero to pick up the injury and Micky, the suspension, as the latter is that crucial to our whole system and a Dier-VDV partnership is likely to be much more effective than the Dier-Romero partnership we suffered through for most of last season.

I’m not Dier’s biggest fan but this is way too harsh.
All 4 of the Chelsea goals you can’t blame him for, we had 9 men!
Than today it was a world class finish that got them level. Arguably you could blame him for the second goal but that’s about it. Considering he hasn’t played at all this season he has done pretty well.
He’s been a good servant to the club especially since he only cost £4 million.
Yeah it’s absolutely time to get in other players to suit Ange’s style of playing but I think to call him pathetic is completely over the top.
