Welcome to the nightmare Liam and I hope you have seen where our problems all lie, and regrettably it's the entire squad that you had available today. We have never reached the heights of expectations put on your predecessors and we are hoping you can see the holes in the plans that have all gone awry. Today's performance was as bad as I have seen this season and against probably one of the weakest teams in the division it actually stank. Tony Thorpe was excellent in his sum-ups saying we can't create openings and when, and if, we do we have nobody to take advantage and several of the newer players are generally at fault and I would include Mehmeti and Cornick as prime examples of poor thinking. At least Liam now has a reasonable break to work with the players and hopefully get some injured players back in the race which will help us going forward, but we really need a heart transplant because there is no life whatsoever in the current squad. The real hard work now begins for Liam and although I think he will be satisfied with a point at Loftus Road he must be wondering what the heck to do next to get this lot back in the game with the right frame of mind.
First of all - it's FA to do with coaching or set ups. Quality quality quality is what we lack. Massively.
mmmm I suppose it was gonna happen, two new managers digging out a point.. A game that gives Liam a chance to view the players competivly...now international break, I expect us to show more of the coache's vision in our next game.. Could have been worse, Rooney anyone?
Def a pen, we got away with one there. We were very poor, looked like a load of headless chickens. Dickie and Knight were both decent, the least said about the rest the better.
what a bad decision by the yanks ...so far 1 point from 15 from a team that was 6th when they sacked JE ... ONLY cOVENTRY CITY HAS GOTTEN 1 POINT IN THE SAME TIME!
I've certainly seen them given. The only time they took Vyner on and....... His distribution is desperate unless its 20yards square. Dickie did ok today but you can see by his body position he's uncomfortable playing left side. He'd be better right side but you dare not risk Franz Vyner left side.
Pretty dire game overall. Thought we were the marginally better team for most of it but you were more likely to nick it towards the end. Very clear lack of quality in either side. It did look like a pen from where I was sitting but you probably get half of them.
Pearson would have won that one. Pearson would have beaten Sheffield Weds and been 2 points off the play offs.
Largely L1 quality players bar a few Which is why, despite what Lansdown says, a top half finish would be a real achievement with this squad If he’s serious about us challenging, then he needs to put his hand in his pocket We’re 17 points behind the top 2 after just 16 games
Both teams were dire imo, neither deserved to win, so a draw probably the best result. For what’s it’s worth I thought it was a pen, however we’ve had so many blatant pens turned down it’s a nice change to be on the other side of a bad pen decision.
Nige would have won that to day. Listen I am giving Liam two months to implement his ways which according to Jon Lansdown are what is needed to improve Bristol City. As said big shoes to fill-Nige had improved us massively . Just look at Birmingham that is going well. QPR had a new manager and what a difference he made to their play. Us we looked lost and clueless.
The trouble is the new guy has taken over from a popular manager, who left us 4 points off the playoffs, having gotten through a period of numerous injuries, and with many now starting to return. We were also due to play two of the weaker teams. With only the board believing a managerial change was needed. Obviously none of that is the new guys fault, but it does mean he needs to hit the ground running. We’ve been told Nige was underachieving with the squad he had at his disposal, and should be challenging the playoff places. Therefore if Manning is under pressure to achieve top 6,or else why bother with the change. Today wasn’t a great start, but it’s far too early to judge yet, hopefully now we’ve got a international break he’ll be able to get his ideas across to the players and we’ll come back fighting after the break.
We didn't lose, we gained an away point, the team have had just 3 days to train, things are not going to happen overnight, surely LM has got to be given a chance to work the oracle (or miracle) like most on here I'm going to wait and see, I believe we have got the quality for a top half place, like it or not we have started a new journey thanks to Jon lansdown, I am going to sit back and hopefully enjoy it, it is going to be an interesting period, we are still in 11th place, 4 points off the playoffs and 11 points clear of relegation places.
I wouldn’t be so sure, that was his team. Either way we’ll never know. Onwards and Howard’s, hopefully!!
I will have a pint of what you’re on please RR. This was Nige’s team, and it isn’t good enough, and hasn’t been for a while! I know you thought he was the messiah, but he wasn’t. He’s bought a bunch of L1 players to the club, and it’s showed in too many games this season.
Firstly I don't think the result would have been any different had Nige been in charge, we've not been playing well for weeks. I'm not convinced it should have been a penalty, went over easily imo. There is no way we can judge LM on a game after being a coach for 4 odd days, that's ridiculous. Its gonna take time for the players to adjust......We didn't lose, that's a bonus for me. Needs to be given time and patience
