Royal has so far managed to recover his bad touches but he does worry me every time the ball goes near him! Great save by Vicario
1-0 HT. Started brilliantly, but offered nothing going forward after that. Needs a bit of a rethink at the break and possibly a sub or two. Had plenty of the ball, just not in any dangerous areas. Probably to be expected.
Can see royal or bissouma getting sent off here. Royal not suited to being that far inside so is going to get plenty more opportunities to make those lunges thinking he can get there. Bissouma needs to wake up in general.
Told you Johnson was gonna become a demon for us, really like his fit for this team. Mixed half overall, some nice and not so nice things. Bissouma’s gone off the ball the last few games though, been nowhere near as good as his start to the season. Emerson struggling too.
We will probably end up playing more minutes of Betancur than would be ideal... Or maybe give Gil a run and drop Kulu back into MF? As for Royal, we haven't really got much of a better option at LWB. Ben would be equally vulnerable.
We started well but Wolves have come into the game a lot since the goal. We struggle to keep the ball a bit which isn’t helping. Obviously an unfamiliar defence, and the quality gap from Destiny to Emerson, and the balance of the midfield being off, doesn’t help. Sarr has been serviceable on the left but looks less comfortable than his usual position, and Hojbjerg looks out of place in Sarr’s role. The introduction of Bentancur sometime in the second half should help this a bit. Bissouma isn’t having his best game but I did not think that challenge warranted a yellow. Wolves are a good side and we need to improve if we’re to avoid a nervy and painful second half.
He’s left footed though so can stay a bit wider, knows his limits and has a bit more of a brain than Emerson.
I'm quite surprised to see you struggling here given Neto is out, but wolves have no end product most games so it's job done even at 0-1 I feel.
Despite the negatives from us, I do wish refs would hold other teams to the standards they seem to hold us to. Seems like the oppo can do what they want for 20 minutes then one foul from us and bang, the cards come out!
