No bother for that lot - baton charge. ****ing state of them - not a medal in sight, you'll notice. Could be doing with those water cannons, someone tried to get them I recall It's how the march later on is policed that'll make the decision for Sunak.
Take the police away and let the current day soldiers “ tell” them about the respect they should show
On a broader point, this is what you get when it's seen as a two-tier response from the Met. The EDL people rock up and get a level of response, and if that level of response isn't matched at the anti-Israel protest later on, the point is proven. The damage is already done really. The only way to fix it is by the Met being more open in how they choose their response. Those who whinge about Braverman trying to politicise the police - it's already highly politicised, just in a way that you like. Kneeling at BLM protests, dancing at Pride, softly softly for one protest and kettling another.
You've got current day soldiers who policed in Afghanistan and Iraq can't get into the police force because they don't have a degree.
Also, rather ironic that those using the words “ England til I die “ can’t respect those who took those words to the literal end result.
Happily/Sadly everyone has the right to protest in a democracy, that's what was fought for. It's just a shame that some people translate 'peaceful protest' as 'the right to do whatever I want' under that banner.
They say they will lock them up, but do they? Give them five years each with no remission see how many do it next year.
The Met seem to be hoying everyone involved in the counter protest in the back of the van, while also saying over a quarter of a million people can turn up to protest on a highly politicised and controversial issue and not a single incident has occured. Does that seem realistic?
The prisons no longer have any room, worse than these are allowed to roam the streets. The Prison Service has been decimated over the last decade ... ... and it was already crumbling then.
Remembrance Day UK police dismiss ‘misleading’ media reports of attacks on poppy sellers Royal British Legion says public supported appeal as usual with no evidence volunteers were targeted. https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/nov/11/police-misleading-reports-attacks-on-poppy-sellers
I see the Met had the option to arrest the Anti-Israel protestors stating a sit-in at Waterloo, but didn't.
More disinformation from the Tory Party and their propaganda arm the Daily Heil. Still, whilst people are talking about that it distracts from the omnishambles that is our government
Assaults on staff have gone through the roof ... ... more overcrowding would mean more assaults and less staff.
The Met are now putting pictures up on Twitter of people who they'd like to get hold of from the anti-Israel protest yesterday. I guess the back of the van on the day was being saved for the other side. One of those protestors they'd like to get is a local councillor who was waving a placard conflating Israel with the Nazis. Guess the party...... More than enough for anyone looking to defend Braverman's comments to point out.
Braverman should never have been near this job in the first place. The fact Sunak needs her to prop him up shows he shouldn’t be anywhere near the PM job as well. They are not even pretending to look like they are trying to improve things for the people of this country. It’s just division and promotion of hatred on a daily basis using the likes of their media arms of the express and mail. Utterly shameless, corrupt and self serving.
