Jones didn't try to step over, he went for the ball and only missed it because the opponent got there a fraction before him (and therefore moved the ball slightly). I wouldn't even class it as late, it was fractions. Just looked very bad, especially in slow motion and/or on freeze frame. Rashford clearly stepped beyond the ball in an effort to protect the ball but in doing so, made no effort to pay the ball and then caught the man. IMO, these are extremely different scenarios Neither are remotely close to the shambolic effort by Udogie!

imo we should adopt a hockey style rule and if someone waves an imaginary yellow about or abuses the ref we simply move the ball to a really dangerous spot outside the pen area. the spot can be marked so free takers can practice it. I am willing to bet it stops overnight. yellows are too much a risk and refs don't want to be consistent un giving them as they get nothing but abuse for enforcing the rules and sending someone off. move the ball up and shrug imo. all unsportmanlike conduct can be dealt with quickly like this. kick ball away. no problem it's not a throw in their half, it's a direct free on edge of your own box. mouth off at ref. free on edge of box manager abusing 4th official, free. ask for card. free. dive? give a free.
Well just when you think the anti Spursy vaccine is working they have another outbreak! Great result for us.
