Wouldn't mind him focussing on getting us nicer training facilities.. think that would have more direct contribution to the first team.

I think you are right, as soon as I saw his post match interview after the last game, I sort of got the feeling he was trying to push the narrative, and thought he handled it in a clumsy way, not very diplomatic. Sort of what a great job I am doing, you need me.

That’s the whole private enterprise world , have you not worked for a company like this? . The man at the top has an ego and does what he wants - if it was me I’d take advice - then still do what I want . Most successful people get there because of this , it’s not always admirable but usually effective

Jarvis and Wood should be the first names in our U23 team.

Right country, wrong club, according to the HDM...

One of those, Hull Live understands, could well be in the Greek Super League, though, contrary to reports, sources have indicated that it won't be Atromitos despite reports in Greece suggesting it would be, and that deal could be finalised in the next two weeks.

Long history between the countries, especially in WW2 , maybe they’ve all moved on- like the rest of Eastern Europe towards the Balkans !

Some of Greece’s top clubs, PAOK and AEK are tow examples, have connections to Turkey going back to the days when Greeks lived there before being booted out. Byzantium, later Constantinople bore transitioning in the last third to Istanbul was founded by Greek fishermen. This explains the deep rivalries with the other Thessaloniki team ARIS and AEK and other Athens clubs which often spills over into violence.

Only because they have good and sensible policing which allows for it to happen, unlike the draconian approach the police take to football games over here.

Away fans are banned at a lot of grounds in Greece when certain clubs face other. It was all at one time.

Wonder how owning a Greek club would help us? Not sure I liked the Shelbourne link up but at least I could see some logic (Jarvis and Wood getting men's 1st team experience, better chance of accessing young Irish talent, etc). A link with a Greek club is surely quite a different proposition. Why such a change in direction?

Because the coefficients aren’t high enough to get work permits, I imagine. The idea is to find a club that can house foreign talent like Brighton do with USG and Leicester do with OH Leuven.

While it is handy geographically having a club in Ireland, Acun has seen an opportunity to get a bigger club that can do more. The talent will be better, the standard of play will be better and the exposure will be better for Hull City.

Though worryingly, I get the impression the Irish fans didn’t take to him like the City fans have and if he can leave in such a short space of time, it means that could happen to us. Don’t do it Acun.

The fact it's the second club he's not seen eye to eye with people and suddenly left is a tad worrying. Hopefully him having full control of us means he won't fall out with people to that extent, but it also begs the question....does he like/can he take being questioned/challenged?

I didn't think work permits were really an issue anymore?

He seems like a decent bloke and he’s done a lot of good improving attendance and generally creating a good vibe at the club again since the toxicity of the Allams but the Allams and others have made me very wary of all football club owners.

His tenure at Fortuna Sittard was a bit sus and what’s going on at Shelbourne is even more so. I do share concerns that one day he’ll get bored of Hull City or doesn’t see us as having the potential for success he thought we could in the time frame he had planned and decides to cut his losses.
