NUFC have done incredibly well to be where they are in Premier League and Europe with the number of injuries they have and the loss of Tonali. This season was always to be far harder anyway. The number of players missing is debilitating to say the least.
I'm not sure words are your strength here. You say we've done well to be where we are with the loss of Tonali and also say he's no loss. Surely he is therefore irrelevant, floppy floppy flip flop.
No, you are flip flopping, or you don't understand English. The loss of Tonali from the squad is not the same as missing him. Look I'll simplify it for you. We've lost him from the squad as he's not available for selection, but it hasn't made a difference, so we haven't missed him. Get it?
Or possibly you don't understand that regardless of Tonali playing well or not he would allow others to get a rest
In other news Barnes is back training on grass and will re-join first team training much sooner than expected
Do we actually have a good chance of getting Neves or are the other clubs gonna go "wah no fair!" and block it? If we get him the crisis is pretty much resolved immediately.
I expect it will be blocked. They are voting for a temporary ban to allow more time to review the scenario in more detail. That's quite an easy one to sell into the other PL clubs to win their votes, especially if they don't have any 'associated clubs' of their own. Big 6 clearly leading the charge again, but all PL clubs will be happy to hold us back a bit.
As I said elsewhere, outside top 6 for me; other teams just have less demands, deeper squads and longer sustained periods of earming. We got CL too early; last season should really have been break the cup hoodoo and finish 8th. Instead we got the most difficult competition, and due to FFP had no ability to really add the numbers and quality we needed. I think the likes of Hall, Tonali, Livramento were all part of an original blueprint and then we couldn't really deviate because our Ashley-drained coffers were empty. Really hard to then sustain - hard enough that our starters aren't really CL quality (Pope, Burn, Longstaff, Almiron) let alone then losing CL-quality like Botman, Willock and Isak for long periods.
The old "if someone disagrees with you they are too stupid to understand" stance. That's twice you've used that here in a personal attack, I was remaining civil.
