Newbury 14.25 Equinus at 2/1 looks very good value at 2/1. Surely wins if doesn't make too many mistakes. I guess that's why he is 2/1 and not odds on
There's rarely very good value in a Pertemps Qualifier Ron . Emitom still looks well handicapped and the form of his March victory has been boosted by the 2nd winning twice since. A big day for Lieutenant Henderson with some bright young prospects on show.
I think it was our master statistician @NassauBoard who put up some info about the record of 10lb claimers in conditionals races? Whatever it was I notice only Lewis Saunders takes the full 10 off Made For You in the opener at Newbury and that ought to make him competitive at huge odds. Worth a fun quid e/w.
Impressive from Willmount - always makes you sit up and take notice when he starts one out at Newbury
Jockey didn't exactly throw the kitchen sink at Emitom did he? Second off 127, might go up into the low 130s. I should think Alan King will have an eye on the final with him after that.
In the Bumper at Ludlow (16:20) the Mahler filly, Maria's Flame, seems to be well-fancied early doors. Connor Brace on board for the Fergal O'Brien yard. Nass and Stick will know a darn sight more than I do on the filly's chances. 7/2 (second favourite) in most places is top price at time of writing.
Nice to see Allaho back but Clonmel racecourse must be pretty disappointed at the turnout for their season highlight. They put on €60K for a Grade 2 Chase with prize money down to 6th and are rewarded with just 3 runners.
Cerainly one for the notebook. Held-up a long way off the pace and made-up a lot of ground to finish 4th.
