He wasn’t looking and stomped right on his ankle. It was reckless (even though there was no malicious intent)
If it was one of our players doing that we’d be thinking he’d be lucky to stay on the pitch

So everytime someone puts a foot down without looking, it's reckless. What a ****ing joke

2-0 up and my hopefeul prediction of man utd doom from yesterday looked silly.

an hour later it looks genius.

utd to finish 4th in group.

The rules have been a joke for as long time. Not the same game I loved as a kid

It's a good example of why var get away with this **** though.

Curtis jones: you can't just show a still, it's looks worse than it is, its a natural movement, its an accident, no intent.

Rashford: nailed on red, the Manc twat.

All clubs and supporters do it, moan like **** when it's them, then laugh when it's not.

The refs, var and the rules are an absolute mess and rather than actually putting any pressure on the association, they'd prefer to fight amongst themselves

Thought rashford one was clear red.

Yes he was stepping to protect the ball but if you watch the whole action he steps so far away from the ball and onto the guys leg. Don’t see how can have any complaints really. If he’s planted his foot next to the ball, he’d have missed the layer.

The difference between that and the Jones one for me is that Jones actually puts his foot onto the ball and rolls over and down along the side of the ball and onto Bissouma. That was the natural step and ended up just being a collision.

Letter of the law based on where contact was gave a red but rashford was much more obvious tbh

Good thing about that post is you can switch a couple of words and it works the other way round too
And it’s still true lmao <laugh><laugh><laugh>

the winners btw
Still City - don’t get me wrong they will get a poor decision when they are up in a game or in one that doesn’t matter to them lmao

I've said a few times that I don't think VAR - and officiating in general - is any better in Europe than it is here.
What we saw last night is more of the same stuff we see every week in the PL.

true and one diffedrence was people under the pretence of protecting the ball didn't suddenly shoot their leg out into an unnatural position with the clear intention of winning a free kick. Some of them are so extreme if the oppo player pulls out of the tackle they would fall over .

So by that logic, if a player is walking backwards, catches a player behind him on the shin, then it's a red card.

Easily avoided if he was just stood still.

How some on here bleat about descions against Liverpool but then suddenly defend the "letter of the law" is astonishing.

That’s clearly not the same thing is it
