One thing Fosse, Hamas have specifically now stopped Palestinians crossing the border if they hold duel nationalities - so that "all injured Palestinians can cross"

This is directly after a major Hamas stronghold was attacked and destroyed by the IDF.

It can easily be argued and is in fact likely, that Hamas officers will be trying to smuggle themselves into Egypt posing as injured civvies.

Hamas do use people as shields, it can't be denied.

Yeah I think in hindsight, Clegg probably would have... given the calamity in Govt that has followed. But at the time, I can see why the Lib Dems wouldn't have supported an EU ref because it was entirely a Tory bastard child that their backbenchers used to gain leverage with the Cabinet.

Cameron only gave into the idea of the referendum because his own MPs were defecting to UKIP, so to save his own bacon (pun intended) and try to protect the Tories from obliterating themselves, he gave into them, gambled and lost

Edelman is a fooking creep, always looking for an opportunity. I knew he was on here, I wondered how long it was before he came in out of the shadows.

Well, he used the Scottish ref as a testing ground.

I think in the terms of Englands long term future, the EU ref had more impact than Scotland leaving (I sincerely do not believe Scotland contributes anything to England or Wales.)

When the Scottish ref was won with relative ease, Cameron thought 'Ok, if we replicate this we can survive Brexit and defeat the Brexiteers.' This gamble completely failed and I have to again, argue from the center, the EU ****ed the remainers campaign hard. They specifically rejected any olive branch efforts from the UK and would not accept any changes to the deal.

I know in hindsight, several prominent EU officials and European leaders regret this decision, but it all but sealed the fate of the EU in the UK. The remainers simply had so little to argue for and the Brexiteers had so much to criticise.

I've never lied - that's just another of your attempts to discredit and deflect - your usual tactic when you don't agree with someone else's views ... and then embark on another of your personal vendettas...

You trawled all the way back through posts to see if you could find comments by me on Mariupol - having found nothing by me (or indeed you) - you attempted to make my comments about thousands of dead Palestinian women and kids seem somehow hypocritical- that says way more about you than me fella - a smokescreen to deflect and dilute the death of thousands of women and kids by a brutal callous state regime ... your time would have been much better spent researching the history of the region - but as you've stated - you don't care about history - which probably accounts for your rather simplistic right wing bias views ...

PS memory is not a choice - if it was, dementia wouldn't exist. <ok>

Yep, the Scottish ref was never going to be a barometer, because despite some rampant nationalism, I think most Scots understood that they were far better off as part of the UK than trying to go it alone. I think that equation may now have changed given that Brexit has removed the benefits that all of the UK had being part of the EU, and Scots now see that they could be part of the EU again as an independent nation

As you say, EU and Remain should have sought compromise. And that leave campaign was ultimately based on lies (money for the NHS, unfettered trade deals etc) but as the infamous Aaron Banks said during the campaign ‘facts don’t matter’ and so it appealed to an emotional nationalistic sentiment, rather than the actual nuts and bolts of what it meant to leave the EU, which has basically been an administrative nightmare and an economic disaster.

False narrative that’s been played out on this thread lately. Happened when Abe was thread banned as well. Tbh, it’s just another deflection tactic.

Don’t worry about him. He gives out just as much as he takes. Calling him an alcoholic isn’t an insult. It’s the truth. He’s a horrible nasty drunk.

Nah, not from me you didn’t.

my issue is with you calling me and others racist and anti semetic

Abe Saying windy’s Granddad should have taken a shower was below the belt and was rightly pulled up. Although he’s not the only one guilty of ‘bantz’ about people dying

But that’s a whole different thing from criticising Israel’s military. And the Israeli govt’s continued illegal occupation and subjugation of Palestine
